I was amazed to see the color of the ocean is Zanzibar.
Like a scene taken out of a movie, Zanzibar is laced with unique beauty and charm, a sightseers gold that leaves you in awe at every turn making it to every traveller's bucket list.
In today’s vlog I visit Nakupenda sandbank and Prison Island.
Nakupenda (In Swahili means I LOVE YOU) is the name of an amazing sandbank.
Nakupenda Sandbank is a beautiful sand bank in the middle of the ocean. No vegetation but you can enjoy the crystal clear water and the different shades of blue and turquoise. I took the day trip and boat ride to and from the Prison island, unforgettable experience.
Prison Island is around 800 m long and 230 m wide at its broadest point. The island saw use as a prison for rebellious slaves in 1860s and also functioned as a coral mine.
The highlight of my day was on the dhow back to the hotel
Listening to Swahili music and watching the sunset.
