I can't even describe how much I love Selena. She's an amazing person with such a big, kind heart and the fact that she helps stray dogs and people from poor countries who suffer from famine is just unbelievable. She's the greatest role model and inspiration for people and I'm so proud to be a fan of her.

im actually puerto rican and as a child i would constantly ask my mom when we went there for vacation y people would leave the dogs and it would hurt me to see that because im a huge dog lover! Its beautiful to see another latina wanted to do more to help a cause no matter what that cause may be. selena is a beautiful person inside and out she will get very far

Selena is so nice and sweet. I love animals too especially dogs. And I know how it feels to lose a dog. Recently, my dog, Lady,(A Chihuahua) ran away from home. We looked all over but we never found her. Nobody called. Me and my sis hope for the best but part of me knows she will never come back. So know I am dog-less and sad. When i grow up i want to be a veterinarian and help animals. So Selana is a really great person for caring about these things. Selena you rock!

So, I'm actually Puerto Rican and I actually live here and this is the first time I've head of Island Dog. BTW, for those of you who don't know, there's supposed to be 78 because there are 78 districts in Puerto Rico.

selena you are extra awesome for helping with dogs. this is a sad yet hopefull vidio. i myself did somthing. me and my family rescued our bassethound molly from death. she was in a pound thatbkills dogs and shebwas due to be put down the next day. dogs are abused everywere not just Puerto Rico. molly was saved though. all of you can adopt a dog and help it too. you can do something. selena thx for posting this video, it still notifies us in 2013 of dogs. and on. this is a good video.thx

in India there so many wild dogs running around some are dead on the road when i went to India i kept 9 dogs and i fed them and took care but then i had to leave so my cousin took care of the dogs

Wow that is very kind of you guys but one thing you said is wrong people can be horrible because they don't see the wrong things they do and they usually never decide to do something to make up for it. All they need to do is see the light which allows you to discover the many things you can do to help.

Running over a dog? :( That's the saddest and meanest thing I ever heard. I remember there was traffic because this mother Goose and Baby Geese were crossing the streets and cars stop for them. Dogs don't worry! Selena is here! :]

we had a small dog meanwhile, called "Didutza "... my mother did not let me hold her becouse I had to go in Italy[she works over ther by 8 years ] and I noticed that my neighbors have had care of her and I left her in their care .. when I returned wasn't there.Was dead or had been taken...

Well I'm from Puerto Rico and I must say this is very accurate. Actually, I rescued a dog days ago because she was injured. Sadly, in my country animals are not a priority. The same thing happens with education. Hope one day everyone can fully appreciate the value of life.:/

Yes, because people in PR don't care about dogs. Adopt a Sato and other organizations are completely made up. People never ever rescue dogs from the street and bring them to the vet, certainly not in the 5 years I have worked with one. People run over dogs when they are bored all the time here, don't you? Oh, and all of the dog shelters in the US are perfectly up to shape; the ASPCA has basically been on vacation the last few years. A skull of a dog, who knew dogs were vertebrates? Selena, great job on going to one of the few, if not the only, American organization that helps dogs while you were here and congrats on your excellent job on portraying Puerto Ricans accurately. That was also great filming.

I am from Puerto Rico & this makes me so mad. I see this everyday, I once saw with my own eyes how a car ran over a dog & he didnt even stop & there was a police around & he just laughed at what happened & I just started cursing that motherfuckin police! The problem in PR is that there is not enough shelters for all the dogs, like it says in the video, there are only 5 in the hole country to attend hundreds of dogs all around PR. This makes me angry!!!!

I cried after watching this. I've been doing a lot of volunteering in Hong Kong. We have Hong Kong dog rescue which helps pick up dogs which helps pick up strays. I've helped pick up strays from my mom's pet shop.
