How does this happen ??? A sermon speaking of trees and their extreme abilities one may think trees may likely be sentient creatures . Yesterday in our yard a large leaning catalpa tree with a bee hive in the base was cut down . Our choice to cut it down as it was a possible danger to our home and us . As the tree trimmers arrived I became overwhelmed with grief for this tree and all the insects birds etc and me that its death would affect . It has triggered repeated crying sessions and what sincerely feels like grief of a great loss . I am a lover of nature but I have not felt like this since I was a child many years ago. I was baptized in 2016 and at some point since I asked God to give me back the heart he created me with as I had become somewhat hardened thru life to survive . Now I am wondering how on earth I maneuver thru this world feeling so deeply for so much . Does anyone else suffer with such intensity ? Im seeking for a purpose for it there surely is one. I have learned when overwhelmed by the world to retreat to Bible study and Skip is a great teacher . Thank you Skip ! Just so wild it is in line with my current experience of today . Please share if anyone else has this experience or any wisdom for this blessing / what feels like a curse at times .

A couple questions. God said, "For in the day you eat of it thou shall surely die". They did not die that day. And the Serpent said , You will not die. So who was really telling the truth? Another thought. What does the Woman know about death? Since there was no death to speak of. Then Why is it something to fear? And how does she know who's talking through the Serpent?

Death would be in the future. They had eternal life. The other 2 questions are interesting.

@sandrawheatle4251 If they really had "Eternal Life", there would be no reason for a "Tree of Life" in the Garden. Maybe they were going to die one way or another. Maybe it wasn't really "Paradise" after all. And again they didn't die that day as God warned.

Death in this instance does not mean cessation of life, but it means a separation from God (spiritual death). So, they did died - but spiritually as with every man after them, until salvation. So, the woman understood that.

@@charlestoriola Again there was nothing to know about what death is. Adam and Eve were of limited knowledge. And what did Eve really know about God's warning?And why would God warn them about something they knew nothing about? Maybe to her it was about the fruit being poison. The Serpent said their eyes would be open and they would not die. And God even quoted to confirm what the Serpent said would happen. So again who was really telling the truth in this Ancient Legend?

An old man told me about an old ghost... from spanish time. I didn't believe. After years he died that was the time I saw the ghost exactly what he has described. Why she has the power to show herself to a living person? That's my question. Thank you
