This version of the song made me cry. I identify as bisexual and well my mom is one of the people who just can't seem to accept it. She tells me how Im sinning by "My choice to act upon my desires". or that God didnt make me this way but free will did. She tells me how being gay is about the same as her "falling in love with a married man and having sex with him." I just can't seem to find the words to actually express these feelings by writing a song anymore but finally I've found inspiration, and hope by you guys. I remember when I first found you guys a while back and hear your song home and lullaby, you guys truly have the right idea here and thank you so much! You keep me going strong every day. Why fight out you opinions on people who like the same sex on the internet, or even in person for that matter? It is what it is, and you can't change how things are. Making people feel bad about who they are, no matter who they love is wrong. Forget about religion and politics. Think about yourself. If you were in this position, wouldn't you want freedom to marry the love of your life? Also think about this: Women didn't even really get rights until the early 1900's, I believe. How is this any different? People fight so hard about this because they're scared of change. They're thinking "if people who like the same sex get more rights, they're going to turn all of us that way." All they want is a life for themselves with their love and have a family. No one is forcing 'gayness' upon you.

The whole pretense of this song is assuming that all 'Christians' or "Right winged Conservatives" have the same views and reactions when it comes to homosexuality. That's not the case and I'm getting tired of being misrepresented. I agree that there are many people who claim those affiliations that hate and bully and whatever else, and that is completely wrong. Homosexuality is wrong according to the Bible (which you don't have to agree with, and that's fine) and I believe the Bible, but that absolutely doesn't mean we hate them/you. I'm not going to condone that lifestyle, but I'm not going to hate them for being that way. Being gay is no more or less a sin than lying or stealing or anything that I've ever done. But just because we're called to love doesn't mean we should shut up...it just means love everyone and show them that real Christians don't hate. We're just honest and representing what the Creator of the Universe says, but we need to be honest in a loving way so that no songs like this have to be written. Cheers ya'll.
