Paradox V Jaden Yugi Yusei (YGO GX Kai)

Jaden is MVP of this duel. Had it under control every time, destroyed Cyber End and Rainbow Neos, went into cool back and forth with Paradox at 7:24, left Flute so Yugi could add his Kuriboh to negate Battle Damage. And it makes sense narratively because Jaden is after his show ended so he's at his prime. Both Yugi and Yusei got pulled to duel Paradox during their series.

I say all of them is the MVP, remember Neos Knight was to weak to attack both monster had Yusei not use Gardna to make those two into defense, Yugi have less to work but he does enough with the limited board he was given and managed to out Paradox Dragon and bring back Yusei Stardust, Yusei clutches for his team by using Stardust Dragon effect and cancel Malefic Truth Dragon effect.

I honestly thought Yusei was the MVP. With his Junk Gardna, Yusei tanked two strong attacks and allowed Jaden to destroy Cyber End and Rainbow Dragon. And it was his Reincarnation of Hope Spell card that allowed Yugi to add Dark Magician to his hand, which allowed Yugi to retrieve Stardust. Jaden definitely pulled his weight though xD I’d say he was the second MVP below Yusei. His Kuriboh play came in clutch.

I'd say they were all the MVP. Yusei set up Yugis play and got the final victory, Jaden took out the two massive dragons and saved them all with Flute of Kuriboh, and Yugi gave them all a chance by retrieving Stardust and removing the power down effect of Paradox Dragon but Jaden definitely came in the most clutch throughout the duel Imagine if Yugi managed to bust out Obelisk or Ra though. "you may have future archetypes paradox, but I have ancient bullshit OP god cards"

Thing is, though, Paradox didn't exactly have much of a chance of winning this duel. Especially since the protags had an absolutely loaded backrow during the penultimate turn. Not to mention, Malefics aren't that overwhelmingly strong even with all their newer support. Sure they have monstrous beat sticks (4000+ ATK each), but it won't matter much against a well-crafted defense.

As an anime fan, I love this duel, in particular the way they make the teamwork feels equal. Everyone gets a time to shine and save the day. As a player though, I kept getting needlessly frustrated 😅 You can't summon Stardust from the grave without properly summoning it first! You can't defuse Neos Knight and bring back the materials cause that was a revived Neos knight! And you can't revive Stardust after it used it's effect because it wouldn't be on Yusei's grave! Honestly if we count Yugi's deck in totality, meaning battle city finalist and his duel against Atem, I'd say it's just as strong as the others. It's just that Yusei is a lot faster, hence the entire dueling while racing thing and Jaden has better combos (his deck works flawlessly). Yugi/Atem has stronger monsters and better spells that aren't situational but it's slower to start. If it wasn't Yugi/Atem, the deck bricks before it can get good cards but Yugi/Atem has heart of the cards so yeah... But if us regular folk had to duel using any of their decks, against paradox I'd choose Yusei, speed and stardust is clutch. Otherwise I'd choose Jaden. Yugi deck stays relevant with powers and effects but lacks cohesion imo, though Yugi makes it work

He actually played the penultimate turn about as well as he could with the cards he had; it's just that the protags had an absolutely loaded backrow and could react however they needed to in order to survive that turn. For reference, their set backrow was the following: - Dark Spiral Force - Stardust Mirage - De-Fusion - Neos Spiral Force - Flute of Summoning Kuriboh Had Stardust Dragon been attacked at ANY point during that turn, Jaden and/or Yugi would flip up one or more of the Spiral Force traps and boost Stardust's ATK high enough to take out Paradox on his own turn (keep in mind he only has 1750 LP on the penultimate turn). Attack anything else, and Jaden can de-fuse Neos Knight which brings back Junk Gardna, which in turn switches the attacking monster to defense mode. It can also do that when it's destroyed and sent to the GY, so attacking Junk Gardna is also a no-go for Paradox. In any case, Paradox had no chance.

No, all three played well with each other. Jaden was able to summon Neos Knight using Yusei’s Junk Gardna, and they were able to unfuse thank to Yugi’s De-Fusion, which saved Dark Magician Girl. And it was Yusei’s Reincarnation of Hope that allowed Yugi to add Dark Magician and summon Dark Magician Girl that brought back Stardust Dragon to their side. And it was Jaden’s Flute of Summoning Kuriboh that added the fur ball to Yugi’s hand and saved them from losing. And it was a combination of the three that defeated Paradox using both Neos and Dark Spiral Force on Stardust that won them the duel.
