Paraflex R-Type Subwoofer

Hey guys! I want to present you the first prototype of our Paraflex R-Type subwoofer we worked out in the HOQWS Facebook Group. It has another folding than our well known Paraflex C-Type subwoofer and also the performance is on the same level. 3D Plan, simulation- and measurement-graphs are shown in the video.
This sub has the option of a different tuning in the high-tuned resonator. With the optional 45°-caps at the end of the 45° bracing you will get a 1dB-gain in the 45-80Hz region. If you prefer bandwidth for higher x-over point for something like the line-sources shown in the video, you could try this cabinet without the front caps. Then this subwoofer plays very solid up to 140-150Hz.
Used with 4x front-caps we suggest an x-over point at 80-130Hz / BW18 or 24.
Overkill is the version with just 2 caps at the bottom! You will get very smooth bass-response from 35-220Hz. =)

Hehe, jau ;) In die Line Sources ist nen B&C DE12-8 mit 10€ China Waveguide gewandert. Gehäuse musste ich kompliziert abändern, hat aber geklappt. Getrennt habe ich bei ca 4,0 - 4,5kHz. Gefällt mir echt gut! Zu den Paraflex Kisten: Da kommen bald ganz andere Kaliber hehe ;) Grüße

„Throw“ is always difficult to answer, so I found an answer from a friend who said: If you put out 140db at 1m and substract 6db for every doubling of distance you know the answer how far of a distance you still be able to hear output. There is no way around it. So if you double up the cabinets you gain 6db. That is. 2 cabinets +6db, four cabinets +6db, 8 cabinets +6db, as long as they are within the range of the bandwidth 2/3 wavelength of the first cabinet. otherwise you get cancelation. So the whole how far does cabinet X will 'throw' you can throw out of the window it al depends on how many dB it can output.

Danke für das Video. Wie schlägt sich der Type R im Vergleich zu deinen großen 2-CE Golden Formula ? Platzmäßig und vmtl. auch gewichtsmäßig spart man ja bei der Type R einiges. Wie sieht es mit dem Klang aus ?

Vom Handling deutlich besser und leichter, aber leider vom Klang nicht so präzise und wuchtig wie die C2E Golden Formular, deshalb habe ich ihn verkauft.

Es gibt eine Paraflex C2-E Golden Formular als 15“ Version, diese ist allerdings recht groß mit 52x120x91,5. Ansonsten Paraflex Alt-Config 15“. Einfach mal bei Facebook reinschauen (HOQWS) 😉 Gruß
