Paragliding Annecy in August, Col de Forclaz Launch

Flight Date: 5 pm, 22 August 2017
Launch: Col de Forclaz, Annecy
Landing: Doussard, also where the shuttle leaves from.
Shuttle: 7 euro 1 trip or 60 euro for 10 and about 30 minutes to launch. Frequency seems to change and can be anything from every half hour to every hour and a half.

I have been paragliding on and off in Annecy for about a month. The weather hasn't been great this year but every now and then it really switches on in the afternoon (especially after 4pm it seems) and a great flight is easily had.
This particular flight is 1 of 3 in 3 days where it was just lifty all over the place. I tried to fly out to the first peak with an eye to fly to the second and then possibly across the lake, but it got really turbulent the closer I got.
I reached the first peak and started to climb in some horrible air, but when I saw the guy in front of me start to rock all over the place and then have a collapse which really rolled him (02:20) I decided to fly back to the launch ridge and buzz around there a bit more.
I can see why people love flying at Annecy when it is working. Beautiful paragliding with amazing scenery.

Thanks, sorry for the delayed reply. We stay in our van and there are a few random spots around the landing site where we park. Although really there are plenty of places to park as a camper. If you don't have a camper sorry no idea really. A friend of mine stayed at a campground about a 10 minute walk from the landing, and for sure I would say it would be better to be near the landing as that is where the shuttle leaves from too. Jose Luis Pardo I found out that KZbin has an option for you to search music and see it's restrictions. So this song will be allowed on KZbin but it shows Ads as a result, which is cool with me. On another video before I knew this it got banned completely and I had to change the song.

Could you let me know where and which are shuttle bus can I take to the Col de Forclaz Launch Site ?

Usually it is just caught from the main landing field at Doussard, but in season there are some free shuttles. Again at Doussard landing field there should be a timetable

Do you prefer using a motor to stay up longer or do you like the peace and quiet better?

They are such different experiences. I like the simplicity of paragliding. Although it can be much easier to stay up with a motor, the maintenance and transportation and storage etc make it much less accessible, especially with my lifestyle. But I do love the low flying aspect of paramotoring and do miss it. With paragliding I get a real sense of achievement when I manage to stay up, and I think as I get better and the longer XC flights start to happen it'll be that much more addictive. There is something truly awesome about being able to carry your aircraft around in a "little" backpack which I love. And once I am much better I will go for a lighter setup again so that then Vol Biv becomes a real possibility!
