PARAGLIDING IN NORTH WALES (ATTEMPTING SNOWDON ON MY NEW WING!)

We decided to risk the weather and head to North Wales and try our luck at some hike and fly fun. Unfortunately, as is always the case in the UK, we had to run around searching for weather windows to make sure we could get some flying in.

Enjoyed the Moel Wnion footage in particular, Jack. I've been leading the Avon Snowdonia Trip up there every year now for quite a while, and set the site record earlier this year, from the NW face, crossing the A5 with only 3000ft base. then getting high following the road towards Llanberis, cruising at base over Eilio, on to the shoulder of Snowdon, then glide to Siabod, back to base closer to 5000ft and then on south.

Hi Jack, great video!! wanted to ask you if you know what season is generally good or bad to fly in wales? and what would you suggest for beginners to go? greetings from switzerland (oh and be the way its not "pie" its "peee" :)

Spring / summer is likely to be the best to go as with the whole of the uk. Spring might be quite variable and strong so I’d think summer is a better should. P.s the pronunciation of PI would depend on where you’re from! Considering the Greek / British pronunciation is “Pee” then I’ll stick with that.

How does the PI 3 compare to other wings you might have flown? Is it as fast as non hike and fly EN-B (A) wings like the Spyder 3 for example? Do you think its ok for paramotoring? If you ever have the time it would be great to get an in-depth review (;

Nice vid. Fun cinematography. Fun commentary. Risky to invite dislikes, so here goes: (1) I recommend encouraging your viewers to fly with the speed system ;) and (2) thank goodness this video is mostly carbon neutral, unlike your internal combustion focused videos ;)

Thank you so much! Yes I’d agree to fly with a speed system but my harness isn’t fitted one and it’s a fairly small wing. Sorry you don’t like the vehicle based videos! I’m going to look into offsetting my carbon output with planting trees!
