Congratulations Matt.. Hi Peter, I soo wanted to learn Paragliding this year. Thanks to Covid19 we are stuck @ home.. I will surely make sure I don't give up this dream.. I am from India ( a place called Coorg ) it's an amazing place, but living in Bangalore for work.. I want to fly around Coorg in a paraglider... The problem is we don't get good equipment. I would like to participate in your free wing give away competition next time!! Good stuff!!! Keep flying 👍

Hey Peter you don’t need a ATPL for flying around the world just a PPL and money, lots of it! 😉 I know because I’ve got an FAA ATPL, JAR ATPL and TC ATPL which took me 10 years of my life to get not 3 months that’s for sure 😂 Now I fly paramotors 😂🤣 👍 Keep up the good work! good luck!

Still want to fly conercialy , not airliners but something small , like skydiving planes, bush pilot or any private jet. Need CPL so ATPL theory is not much different to CPL. I learned lots of good stuff from ATPL which will keep my future Dream bit safer 🙏 Thank you and doing my best to achieve this trip/dream 🤞

@@PeterHoldy yeah, used to be called frozen ATPL, you get your CPL+IFR+MULTI flight training tickets and eventually after a few years reach the long desired 1500 hrs, if you are really really really lucky you can enter a training program in Europe where you get trained 🤓 I don’t know if it’s still like that!, I stopped flying commercially in 2008 with 8000 hrs total but it was a long road for me, I was a jump pilot (skydiving) in the US for a few years too. With all my years in aviation I have learned that there’s two types of pilots those who fly because of professional status and those who fly for the love of aviation I was the latter and that helped me reach that goal and I think that you are too, blue collar aviation is amazing never give up it is a fascinating path 👍

@@PeterHoldy oh by the way I used to be a float bush pilot in Canada I would never have 737 Ryanair job, that would kill me! 😂

Do you have paraglider design or paraglider to give it away
@PeterHoldy3 жыл бұрын
It was just give away. I do not sell paragliders or i do not design them 👍

God, I so hated the ATPL theory! Specially the technical part with electric systems, constant speed generators and all this happy jazz. Always wondered why the hell I would need to know this stuff if I can't do something about it in flight anyway! I never saw a pilot soldering wires while flying! Did you? Met, Nav, weight& balance and human limitations seemed much more practical! 😂 Ohh, and congrats Matthew!

Yes in ATPL is so much thinks in details that they expect you to know and calculate. 80% pilots will never ever use or discuss. But need to be done i guess. I like weather, mass and balance. Hope i will pass everything. Fingers crossed.🤞
