Thank you very much for all the amazing work you have done. I have a question about how to present an opposing view or a counterargument within a paragraph. I think acknowledging a possible counterargument against my argument can further strengthen my argument if I do it properly. Using the 3rd paragraph example from this video about the video games, I would argue that you could still keep the sentence ¨However, many video games are not violent¨in that paragraph if you chose to present a counterargument. Am I mistaken in thinking that you could acknowledge the counterargument in a paragraph format (maybe more suitable for an essay?)? Should the writer develop it in a separate paragraph instead of integrating it in the same paragraph? Thank you always!

Hi Hiroki, thank you for your kind words. I agree that acknowledging a counterargument can strengthen your argument when done properly. The sentence you mention in the 3rd paragraph could be used--but we need to add at least one or two additional sentences to make it flow and express why that counterargument still doesn't disprove our main point. A counterargument can be included within a paragraph just like this one. It can also be included in a separate paragraph of its own.

Hello Manpreet Aulakh, this is basically a correct paragraph with a topic sentence, details, and conclusion. I'd change the topic sentence slightly. The topic sentence should usually make a statement (for example, that this thing or person is special in some way, important, a favorite, better or worse compared to others, etc)...but you simply say that you *have* the phone, which is more a fact than a statement. You could make your topic sentence similar to your conclusion sentence but use slightly different words.

Hi Manpreet Aulakh, I like the first sentence of the two--but you should add a little focus on the phone! You begin "I possess many things"...maybe keep that but change the other half of the sentence to focus on your phone.
