The completion of the third line between Aligarh and Dadri have made the Aligarh-Ghaziabad stretch a hot zone for parallel action when traveling enroute Delhi. This video presents the parallel action of two trains in close succession with the 12301 Howrah Rajdhani Express. As we blast towards New Delhi on the back of a four hour delay due to the North Indian fog, we absolutely gallop past the Mau-Anand Vihar Express. Just before we are able to complete the overtake though, the ER King is laid low by a speed restriction and we slow down as the Alco hauled Mau-Anand Vihar Express chugs along.
We stop at this nondescript location for around twenty minutes. As a Ghaziabad WAP1 coasts by with the Vikramshila Express (which we overtook a little after Aligarh) the Rajdhani starts accelerating. It is now the turn of the Vikramshila to face the whims and fancies of section controllers, as it is slowed down and the Rajdhani proceeds. Just before Dadri, we race past the Mau Anand Vihar Express, as the section controllers decide to spare the Howrah Rajdhani the humiliation of being shot out by an Alco hauled express.
Between Ghaziabad and Sahibabad, the Delhi Ambala Cant Express via Saharanpur comes charging past with a Ludhiana WDM3, closely followed on the adjacent line by the Shramjeevi Express, with a Siliguri WDP4.
