Decided to rewatch this and realized there's a decent possibility that Power Star Luigi will get the chance to team up with SMBZ Mario. Really hope that ends up happening at least, that Luigi needs a chance to fight with a Mario even if it isn't his own.

I grew up with both of these sprite series and this is an amazing blast from the past. I also loved how Devil Mario is clearly far stronger in this as I always assumed this was the case considering he was able to beat Luigi despite being a whole star behind whereas a star in SMBZ gave Mario and Sonic power to revert Mecha Sonic back to his base form. No doubt in my mind Devil Mario would trounce Mecha Sonic.

Comparing power stars in power star and power stars in smbz is like comparing kaioken to super saiyan

The Power Stars in Power Star give a permanent boost, Superstars in SMBZ give a temporary but much higher boost. Remember Mecha Sonic was destroying mountains and islands with his attacks, I doubt Power Star Mario could beat him.

The best way to describe this is like in a fighting game. Picture a Level 50 fighter with the best equipment available, and has already been put through the ringer a few dozen times, going up against a Max Level 100. It’s certainly possible, but damn hard to pull off.
