Your small details in your illustrations make a huge difference in describing the process! (i.e. when you seperated the two currents using that drawn green wire) Keep it up!

What if we have 2 different types of parallel diode, where the equivalent model (the polarity) are not the same for both of them?
@SiddharthSingh-rx5ie
@SiddharthSingh-rx5ie 3 жыл бұрын
If the diode is placed in reversed direction then it simply will act as an open circuit causing the parallel configuration to act like a normal configuration.

Since they are the same type of diode ( silicon in this instance ) they have the same voltage drop across them and hence draw the same current

@shubhamnayak9369
@shubhamnayak9369 4 жыл бұрын
@@fariborzmomtazzadeh4497 see both Ge and Si diode are in parallel..ok now input voltage increases slowly.. 0,0.1,...etc as soon as it reaches 0.3V ,Ge diode conducts...so voltage across Ge will be 0.3V and since voltage across parallel combination remains same so voltage across Si diode will also be 0.3V but Si diode will conduct only when 0.7V is across it.. but we know it is 0.3 V so Si diode will never conduct as loong as Ge is conducting

Question - How do I measure on multimeter the output voltage from circuit seen from 2007, that was secondary side of Inverter of 120VAC connected on each output line single diodes that are opposite polarity each facing, going to resistor load? Is this still a portion of 120V AC output ,or approx 40 volt half wave DC plus and minus DC? The writer may have been thinking about back flow protection. This is not print error, or about clipping circuit. Please advise.

Why you didn't point out the risk of thermal runaway in case of negative thermal coefficient of Si diode. Its risky to parallel two Si diode without any snubber or protection/current balancing circuit.

the overall voltage drop across the combination of germanium and silicon diode remains the same as that of the germanium diode so that silicon diode wont even be activated. And we can have voltage drops in each case as 0.3V.
