I feel so ashamed at how rough and untidy I am....my works best seen at night. But you show me as age slows me a little that I too should take the time and enjoy making things properly though never in your class. Thankyou for showing us what we could you if we just learned patience and did it right the first time.

Mr Koubou I really apreciate and thanks all the knowledge and also the method to work you give us in all videos, for the first time, respectfully, I will make a comment to improve your work (if posible) I would add a zink plate or any other metal over the base where the wood slips to make it last as plane as 90° perfection requires, thanks to accept this humble recommendation from Argentina, my best regards

You can probably build a small, automatic feeder with some rubber wheels and a motor, or a belt sander. In fact, you could probably put a portable belt sander behind this unit to give it a good surface sanding as well after planing, and to get rid of the scratches left by the planer

In the beginning, I would like to thank you for these wonderful, beautiful and useful ideas for me a lot.. but if you can show the measurements of the pieces and their lengths in numbers so that the follower can know even a close ratio of the measurements and differences .. I wish you continuity and success and development more and more ..

I like your plane mount which should work for my 1900B, but I think I'm going to overengineer the vertical adjustment using 4 columns with timing pulleys and belt. I'm looking to flatten 40cm x 150cm chainsaw milled lumber. May I ask where you get baltic birch plywood in Japan?

Do you notice that when you turn on, and especially when you turn off the drill, does the speed increase? This is because the drill is not working at its nominal power. You should actuate the trigger with a seal at its maximum travel and place an extra switch on the machine frame. Even the perforations are going out more accurate. Greetings from Argentina!
@luchvk
@luchvk 4 жыл бұрын
He made that drill press. It's basically a frame around a hand drill. It's a very interesting build. I recommend watching it if you haven't already. I've used something similar but not nearly as nice. I think the drill has a trigger lock and he needs to squeeze the trigger to unlock it, to turn off the drill. I don't know if the drill has a screw on the trigger, in order to hold the trigger at a set distance to control the speed, but he could loosen it if he wanted to, to make the drill slow down more gradually; instead of only squeezing the trigger. - - Edit - - I think that I missed your point. I can't say why he isn't running the drill at full speed. However, I do think that running the drill at full speed may be useful for some drilling tasks; maybe not all. I think an external power switch is a great idea though.

This basically turns an electric planer into a thickness planer. So you can joint one side of a board, then run it thru this jig to make both sides parallel.

question here is what if the lumber is not straight on the initial run?
@shanestevens622
@shanestevens622 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Marvin Lim, unless the initial piece of wood is twisted, or is too long to be in same contact with the base from start of cut to end of cut , then the top will be planed flat and parallel with base. The workpiece just needs to be flipped so freshly planed edge is on base and then plane to required thickness. If the wood is not straight then it will have to be much thicker than the requirements of the project to allow for the extra machining to get it flat. If the wood is twisted, then it would need to be clamped to two side supports sliding flat along the base that are lower than the top to be planed, that way there will be no rotation of workpiece whilst planing top face.
