Note : If the vehicle on the right is a lot larger than your vehicle, don't use the second method of determining your distance by aligning the plate to the left of right of the window. Use the first method of aligning your mirror before or after the other car's mirror.

jackaranda202 I'm super shy so I won't complain. But basically, I thought I was ready to do my test, and every lesson my instructor would say "next lesson we'll start procedures" but we never did. we'd do things I'd struggle with but he's never give full advice. then he got a new car, I stalled a lot. if i rolled back on a hill he said I needed more gas bit in fact I needed to find the clutch more if that makes sense. then he'd go away on holidays or just cancel. then I'd be cancelling for college. so basically, a year and a half, though only around 60 lessons. and it was terrible. Then my next instructor, had 4 great lessons...ghen he went to Poland and didn't come back hahaha. My new one, so far so good. He works alone, doesn't have a company and seems to not care so much about the money do I have hope hahaha

For everyone watching, I tried the technique mentioned at 0:00 to 0:21 to parallel park AND IT WORKS EVERYTIME! (Note I have a medium size car; if you have a large or small car you will need to make the adjustments mentioned in this video). @@2cents2 One thing I learned about parallel parking is that if you ask five different instructors how to parallel park, you will get five somewhat similar but different answers. I wish that there was a single consistent method that applied internationally but there doesn't seem to be.

I used to watch this last year as well as other videos, I passed my driving test first time. Never got to say thank you but here you go PS - I did do a parallel parking, was feeling so confident, it was inch perfect. A further second reversing and I would have touched the kerb. I watched this earlier in the week because I was nervous about my test, I passed! To all of you who are in the same position I was in right now, pay attention to this video but when you’re out practicing most importantly focus on your gut instincts when it comes to moving the wheel. Your body will tell you where to move the wheel based on the feeling of the vehicle once you have some practice. My grandparents picked me up 1.5 hours before I was supposed to arrive at the testing Center so I could practice my parallel parking right before the test. Thanks from Canada 🇨🇦

Sir, a few days ago, I found a situation when the car in front of mine was directed the opposite way such that the front end faced the front end instead of its back. I couldn't use aligning with mirror anymore. In this case, I had to align my rear end to the front end of this reference car. Only this initial step was different, the remaining steps were the same, and it worked.

I don't used this method for my 27yrs driving experience. I never tried it. but i will try it this method or technique this is the first time i came across on this video. @@ConduiteFacile pains me to say this, but I did not pass. I went to a road test in Yonkers, NY The instructor in my opinion was a mess. As I was fixing my mirrors he told me to turn of the car completely. How can this be? I need the car on in order to fix my mirror. Secondly, when the instructor said go; I changed gear, looked at my blind spots and mirrors and as soon as i was leaving a car comes in at full speed. I hit the break and then the instructor said to go back to my starting position. I asked for another opportunity, but his answer was " have a good day" I mean what type of professionalism is that? So I went back to the office and paid $155 for road test, car and 1 class. I wasn't nervous at all. The instructor who took us there even said " that's just bad luck" Nonetheless, I will take it again at another place in the Bronx, NY. Thank you for your comment!

Can you do a video on parallel parking with cones? In the US, on the test, you don't have the markers of other cars to follow. They use cones to mark off the parking spot.

I'm 67 and haven't had to parallel park as a driving exam in 53 years..... I can pass the entire rest of the written and driving test with no problem but this one has me shaking in my boots. I have a large work truck that after having owned it for 20 years I still have problems determining where the perimeter of it is and don't even attempt a parallel park. Thank goodness I found your video. I am now going to go out in an EMPTY parking lot and practice practice practice.... I'll still be shaking in my boots but I at least have more knowledge and hopefully more experience in preparation for the exam. I hope the examiner doesn't expect me to plant Big Blue in a small spot. Thank you.

I watched your videos and passed my New York state road test (I passed the test in one try)!!! I used your videos for parallel parking and not my instructor's instructions as the instructor's way of doing it was so needlessly complicated. I would definitely advise anyone taking the road test in NYC to watch your videos. By the way, you cannot pass the New York state road test if you can't demonstrate a near-perfect parallel parking and doing a clean 3-point turn. Thank you for your videos!

My instructor is useless so i had to ask a friend for this practice,most of these driving schools charge $65 for an hour,that's $130 right there for two hours down the drain 😭
