1: Align the tires 2 feet away from the other vehicle. 2: Have your steering wheel all the way to the right and back up until you see the car fully on your left side mirror. 3: Then straighten out your tires by having the steering wheel dead center. 4: Back in until you see the left blinker of the car from your right side mirror. 5. Then have the steering wheel all the way to the left until you're parallel. 6. Adjust afterwards.

This is an excellent tip. I used this same method on my driving test and got it. Unfortunately, I failed the overall test because I crossed a solid white line while turning. So remember, ALWAYS stay in your lane.

Thanks so much for this. I'm 42 years old and just moved to an urban area where most of the parking is parallel. I get stressed out everytime I have to park and usually drive around to find a curb space that has at least two empty spots so I can just drive into it because I really don't know how to parallel park. Missed out on a lot of good, closer spots because of it. I'm going to make more of an effort to practice (during non-busy hours of course) so hopefully I won't have to do that anymore.

I watched this video the day before my driver’s exam. About an hour before my driver’s exam, I used the method from this video with cones set up for parallel parking practice from a nearby Driver’s Ed. I parallel parked about five or six times, then showed up to my exam appointment. First thing the instructor asked me to do was pull out of my parking spot and drive to the exam site’s cones and parallel park. 😏 I easily parked and ultimately passed the exam after finishing the drive. I thank God I came across this video right when I needed it. Prior to this video I knew nothing about parallel parking. Thank you for posting. 😌

All this theory sounds good until you're alone on your side of the road, but when there's heavy traffic starting to line up behind you, because you want to parallel park, it can be a very stressful situation, so you just forget everything you've learned and go by your instinct, just to let all the traffic pass you by asap... Luckily I rarely need to do parallel parking, but most of the time I don't have time checking this, checking that, just go straight in as I could, and correct it later. But the method works, I had a chance to try it out once (I've learnt it from the Canada's Worst Driver show), and my car fit in the space like a glove :)

I did it right the first time while my grandmother was watching in the parking lot, parked right but for some reason asked if I could do it again and apparently I failed.... I just the other day paid all my car tickets off that I thought I already paid off and can soon go for my drivers test again (g1 first)and get my schooling done at the same time. I am almost 27 drugs kind of did a major part in just not caring for much but I would never look back.... Feels like I'm starting all over again but just feel older and wiser now... Simple and clear. Also aside from the mirror, another tip is make sure the car is about a 45 degree angle then turn the steering counter clockwise.
