@sasayaki8 жыл бұрын
I haven't had to parallel park in a long time. When I first got my license I was always nervous about it because where I grew up people seemed to always park on the street with barely a car's length between them. If you managed to get in without hitting anyone, you were lucky if you had a foot of space to play with. Which made getting out even more nerve wracking with anything besides a compact car.
@saldibian9579 жыл бұрын
easiest way to do this, is get side by side with the park. Stop, look behind you, (blind spots), turn the wheel 1 TURN, begin reversing, once the symbol of their car is in the middle of your passenger windown, STOP, turn the wheel all the way to to the left, and reverse. EASY!
@chaoticdrifter4 жыл бұрын
I've had my license for about 4 years now (incident free) and I can say this is terrible advice. Pause at 2:02, had you done this on the road test you would have failed. My advice, drive along side the car you're trying to park behind. Match your right mirror with their left mirror ( or vise versa). While still being there, turn your steering around one full rotation but not all the way, that way you don't swing too wide and potentially hit the curb. While reversing, wait till your mirror is aligned with their back taillight then turn the opposite way, one full rotation. You'll avoid the unnecessary risk of hitting the curb, plus you'll also seem like a pro doing so. Good luck to all.

Little tip if you're parking in the main street in front of shops. Storefront windows give a brilliant reflection of your car and the cars behind and in front of you. You can use this to park in even tighter spaces to judge the distance you have to spare. You can usually gets within inches of either vehicle.

Informative...so besides "Taking it slowly," which is a must, I always turn the wheel first before the letting the car move, people don't realize that your angle of attack changes if you are in motion, thus it can become harder to judge the corners and the curb. If you "cut" or turn the wheel as far as you can judge to enter the correct angle of the parking spot that gives you the best chance of completing the park in as least amount of steps as possible, it becomes easier and easier over time.
@TarlaTorres8 жыл бұрын

I don't think it's shameful to not knowing how to parallel park. But like I said, it's still a great skill to learn! Especially if you travel to very dense cities, you might need it. What they tested me on (and in this order) was Parallel Parking (got full points) Reverse perpendicular parking (I got half points because I did it correctly, but with a method that wasn't particularly legal for my town oops), backing up in a straight line for 20 ft, and then the road test. My road test took about 7-10 minutes since I live in a small city-town, so yours might be longer or shorter depending on how big your city is. The best of luck to you!!!

Sometimes you cannot turn the wheel all the way around because you can over do the turn. Sometimes I turn it one half of a turn, back in, and turn it back the other way. If you turn it all the way, you have to quickly turn it all the way to the opposite direction which can mess you up.

Pudding Well, when making a right turn I was supposed to look through my right mirror and turn my head and make sure they’re is no one in the bicycle lane then proceed to enter the bicycle lane, turn my head one more time to back check that no one is coming on a bike then I’m able to make my right turn. What I was doing was not even entering the bicycle lane at all I was just turning she said that incorrect because people behind might think I’m going straight instead of turning and hit me from behind. entering the bicycle lane and going more to the corner let’s them know that you’re turning. I hope you that makes sense to you I suck at explaining 😂 let me know how your test goes !!💕

@@@emmemm8530 Lol I think I get ya but we learn from our mistakes. I unfortunately take my test on September 20th since there was a dumb mix up. :/

I think important advice missed is that as you are parallel with the car you’re backing up behind, when you start to reverse, your car should be at a 45° angle before you straighten the wheel to back into the open spot
