PopCap's division to bring its videogames to the Chinese market is "PopCap Shanghai" which began in 2008, in the case of PvZ they began to release several versions of the first game since 2011/2012 such as Great Wall Edition, Social Edition, Endless Edition/Journey to the West, etc. PvZ 2 Chinese also came out in 2013 and was originally developed by PopCap Shanghai, but since its version 2.0.0 in 2017 they passed the development of the game to Talkweb Games and Melting Games with the support of EA, since then they have been in charge of the game.
