Chris, I can only speak to what I know and that I have heard a lot more good things about Parallels than any competitors for a desktop/laptop. Parallels used to have a Cross-Upgrade where you could get a significant discount if you have a valid serial key for VM Fusion. I looked and as of right now Parallels is not offering that deal but VMWare Fusion IS. I hope this helps.

Of course you need to upgrade to Parallels 9 if you want to use it on Mavericks.

Around the 3 minute mark from when you cut the video the desktop got really smooth in terms of the live tiles transitioning. Did you do anything to make its performance better? Talking about 3:10-3:20

Go to microsoft's site, there's a page that lets you input a valid product key and then it spits out the ISO file for you

Hi there, I am usually a VMWare and VirtualBox user for a couple main reasons both a cross platform so i can share virtual machines. Also, when i tried the trial of parallels desktop a few versions back, It didn't play nice with the3 os x accessibility zoom feature, without guest additions and not all operating systems i would want to virtualize (even just for fun) don't have guest additions. The other downside I found is the unity like feature of parallels didn't work in anything but windows. With Virtualbox, or VMware fusion unity works with any guest that has vmware tools available . How has parallels improved in functionality in current versions ? with my above deal breaks ? I see a lot more negative reviews on it in recent years more so on company practices as well as stability. Anyway I'm just curious on it's progress since I haven't used it on a regular basis. Great video though and thanks for the information!

F*ck parallels, i had the 8.0 and it did not work, the mac became very very very slow.
