Sometimes it is aspiring athletes who don't get to take part in Olympics for whatever reasons and this is one way they get to fulfil and realize their dream of being a part of Olympics. And they train intensely with their visually impaired sprinters to help them achieve their goal too. It's such a beautiful partnership because it involves trust, dedication and a balance spread across the entire thing. Amazing! They are both winners eventually because it is team work and they need each other.

@@adarsh4764 some of the athletes are legally blind meaning they have a little bit of vision but probably can't drive a car. The blindfolds keep everyone at the same level. They do the same for goal ball which is one of the funnest looking sports in the Paralympics.

@@loonatis ok Another question! I have seen sprinters with no legs or one leg also run in 100m and 200m. Are they allowed in the same category with the blind ones or they are separate. Means 100m for men's blind and 100m for men's no legs.

i wonder how fast the guides could run the 200 by themselves? they are as impressive as the runners in their own way, being able to run stride for stride with a female runner with shorter legs and stride (who also cant see a damn thing) without taking away form the natural stride of the blind athlete. this to me is just amazing in its physical and mental requirements. amazing stuff guys!
@CherylMotherofSeven
@CherylMotherofSeven Жыл бұрын
I thought about that as well. Their guides are amazing athletes and then some, for they are timing their stride to meet with their companion. And it is interesting that all the guides are men, taller, stronger and usually faster than women. So the woman also is aided by his force/energy. I used to compete in high school and occasionally tethered to a stronger male for running, and it was actually exhilarating because I was faster because of his/my running companion’s speed & agility! So yeah, it is great to have a stronger companion!❤

It is a partnership. They practice together, both individuals putting in effort equally - the para Olympic athlete as well as the guide runner. I can't notice any issue, but in 2:07 I notice a lot of cables. I thing that's a sensor or something to catch a false start (Sry my English).

No, they came there to become a winner like sportmen not disabled. Your viewpoint is a mercy. They don't need it and even don't want.
