Like the choice of all black and how you dyed the fabric to match! I am selecting my first rigid chair, and your advice to get an adjustable chair is good, then can buy lighter one in due time when right set of measurements is determined. If one has a progressive condition or still growing body, some adjustability may be needed to accommodate.

Were the flip down handles an option or did you after market those? That is the best idea - I hate being treated like a toddler in a stroller by well meaning people, but I have not gotten strong enough to push myself around for that long, or to get up steep inclines so I need the handles sometimes. I appreciate the video- you gave me some good ideas for how to tweak my chair.

I also have a Roho low profile cushion, but my therapist doesnt like them, she says its not as good for your rear. I find I slide on it more anyway. I should be getting my Ti Lite this week and Im REALLY EXCITED. I also am looking for a place to get tested on the menox hand controls. You mentioned your j2 cushion- In my experience they perform much better than an air filled Roho cushion. After suffering a few years of slow air leaks with Roho style cushions I switched to the gel filled J2 which I've been using for 9-10 years. The gel does eventually deteriorate but it seems to take about 6-7 years & when you compare that to a multi-celled Roho, with plenty of seams where leaks start, the gel filled cushions give you more value. I had a Roho that leaked right out of the box.

Good luck especially if you are/become anyway Active as this is the worst chair in my 20 years as a Wheelchair-User Rubbish front wheels and bits falling off the brackets at the back fold and the foot rest split within months has to be drilled out to be replaced in under two years of active use The best Chair I have ever owned and that notwithstanding how heavy it is (Yes it's still going) is the Quickie Revolution as it folds down front and back and sits beside me on the passenger seat(breaks down like a child's Buggy) Sadly SunRise has discontinued it and not planning anything like it in a lighter weight. The Brakes on the TiLite have given up for the second time last week. Definitely the Worst Wheelchair I have had the misfortune to own. Oh in the British Isles we pay in £s what most people pay in dollars and quite often More. Your comment ref the Gel the Jay11 is simply the best you could ever have if you wish to avoid Pressure sores. Just don't put Keys in the back pocket of your trousers. I have been using Jay11 Gel Cushions and they are By a long shot the best around. Just remember that when you wash the cushion cover to put it inside a laundry bag as the Zips are the weakest part.
