Paramahansa Yogananda: Jesus’ Temptation in the Wilderness

The Divine Spirit had led Jesus into the silence of the wilderness to be tested, to see if his Christ Consciousness could be retained despite the deluding influence of all mortal memories.
While Jesus was engaged in the divine bliss contact of God, he was “tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts” (Mark 1: 13). The cosmic delusion of metaphysical Satan instigated psychological temptations of beastly passions, of cunning allurements for power and possessions, and of fierce mortal desires issuing from physical pain and hunger to entice him away from his transcendent wisdom-perceptions.
The apostles relate that for forty days and nights in the wilderness solitudes Jesus was “tempted of the devil.” With God as his sole witness and ally, he fought off the Evil Force with fasting to conquer the delusions of body consciousness, prayer to strengthen the mind in faith and determinate will, and the ecstasy of meditation that reaffirmed the identity of his soul as an awakened son of God.

One who speaks about God and Jesus and forgot to say the word LoVe... It is not on the side of truth. By discipline alone one doesn't merge with god. To talk in a book from another book where Jesus said less than 1 % of it, and tell someone else's experiences.... Very good job for ordinary humans. I will remain with Jesus himself and I will leave the books for scholars, the ones who don't hear the sound of God but they interpret what others have said in books. I will always be with Jesus and the love he was. With the jesus consciousness and not the jesus who is written in a book. I cannot understand how a yogi as Yogananda Paramahansa used this kind of words so influenced by Christianity..... First yogis came, then religion. Not of any use for ordinary men but directed to them..... He proclaimed to know Jesus. But the jesus I know has nothing to do with these good morals and disciplined behaviour..... No, he was not so. Satan..... Seriously? Coming from sanatan ..... O Diablo coming for de habla. To speak. I don't buy a single point of this but for the energy speaking.... This is it as it is. The meaning of life is what death gave rise to the question. An illusory sense of separation which gives rise to the need for there to be questions by supplanting answers via a parasitical eye to a super-imposed morphic phantom. A way to hide it's self from it's self/or true self is to feel hidden and derived at which said to you IE: What is life all a’boat ? Until your life is lost you’ll always wonder why.
