Jim Farmer, Great videos, I took the NREMT Paramedic Practical Skills Exam last Saturday in Rockford, Illinois. I passed 8 out of the 12 practical skills stations, This is one I need to retest on, I exceeded the 6 minute time limit. Your videos did help a lot.

When you did your skill station that they make you calculate out some crazy number or did they give you a 22 pound child? Our class is giving us random weights do you have to do long division for and its time consuming

Very good. Remember that in the field you may not always aspirate marrow; you may still be in but won't get any drawback.

10 ml/kg is generally used for newborns up to 28 days and 20 ml/kg for 1 month to signs of puberty

Why are you not using a Pressure Infusion Bag to assist the fluids? The fluids will not free flow into bone without pressure assistance.

Pressure assistance in anything less than a full rig is commonly called "squeeze the damn thing".

In the actual national registry station, do you have to calculate the dosage on paper? Our class is making us do that and it takes a lot of time doing a math problem. I don't see anyone else actually doing that, they just verbalize that they will adjusted to the appropriate rate, is that acceptable enough?

Thanks alot Lauren. I did the station already and it was pretty laid back. No dosage calculations. They give you something you can figure out in your head or a predetermined number. Very simple. My class is just crazy lol.

@@LOL2YOU mines the exact same way my teacher has us doing a whole formula. I'm so nervous. I can do like 100 pounds divide by 2 then take 10 percent and then add that then add a zero do they make you do this? I'm glad I learned at least that much in my head just in case but I cannot find a video where they actually make them do this?
