I am a former EMT, but the first and only time I gave narcan to an unconscious overdose was as a good Samaritan. I was all by myself, and I happened to have 1 narcan nasal spray on me. I had no idea what would happen, I just knew I was to stick up his nose and spray it. The man wasn't breathing, so I had to breathe for him until EMS arrived. I was taught that 1 narcan would reverse an opiate overdose, but now that Fentanyl is the primary ingredient in heroin and God knows what else is mixed with it, sometimes many applications of narcan are required. And no matter how many doses of narcan are given, sometimes narcan cannot bring everyone back to the land of the living.

These paramedics are just amazing! And the guy with the broken wrists and ankle was the toughest man I’ve ever seen. 😢

As if 3 broken limbs at the same time wasn't awful enough... they weren't just a little bit broken, they were BROKEN BROKEN. Poor guy!

With the mixture of drugs sold, even the current emergency med may not be enough to revive those who OD.😮

No naloxone, the opioid antagonist? First thing, I'd think. .....Well, better late than never, but the nasal mist is a lot faster than IV. Nervewracking to watch.
