This is still one of the most useful habits. This slight minor change in mindset when designing allows me to do just that, create one part and use it for a lot of different applications. I find myself creating templates of the basic parts I design with this method specifically. I am so thankful to have a proper mentor that reinforced good design habits early on.

Awesome. Have been looking for a tutorial on parameter driven design and this gave me what I needed in the first 5 minutes.

Watching this before my certification test. I mostly self taught, and aced my 2 practice tests, but missed nearly all the parameter questions. This is extremely helpful thank you.

Learned quite a bit from this vid, I love my teacher and she’s good at what she knows but she doesn’t know inventor

Thank you for good demonstration of this parameters function, but can you get rid of the terrible background music!?

Hello, just like to say this parameters vidoe helped a great deal, I'm making the transition from standard autocad to Inventor and this helped. Hope you can go a stage or two further on parameters, thanks.

+Rlh Rlh Cheers, glad it helped, this is one of the very first videos I ever did on this channel! What else are you wanting to see on parameters?

Hi I'm trying to use the parameters/ilogic to make a set of spanners from one spanner. I'm kind of muddling through but I could use some help on how you make the first spanner after the original, that is how you work out what will change and by how much. It'll seem very simple but I've not done it before. Hope you can help.

Hi I want to make drawing of a 3D tube model. Which should have angles,distance between each bend as well as rotation between each bend. Can you make next video in this topic ..thanks for your wonderful videos...

hi, could you tell me if you derive a part which is linked to excel, is the excel file also derived?

Please make video how to split parts from single assembly And how to save it each one separately
@Fuk_Zat_Tek5 жыл бұрын
Simple : You just have to doubble left click on your part name's on the left of your screen , as if you wanted to edit it , and then you right click on its name and save it

Setting Drawing Dimension as Parameter Name how to do that??
@hannepetrineverner20629 жыл бұрын
It would have been nice to know how to share/copy parameters(like having a "collection" of parameters that belongs to a specific project)

+Hanne Petrine Verner Sorry I've just noticed the comment. I know it was a while ago you said this so you might have forgotten all about it and stopped caring now, but can you give an example of what you'd need to do this for?
@hannepetrineverner20628 жыл бұрын
+TFI CAD Tips That's ok, I didn't stop caring. ;) Well, I am fairly new to Inventor and 3D, so maybe it's just me, but for example, if you have a series of furniture that is build of the same type of wood panels, e.g. 15 mm. All the furniture also share some common rules, like a distance to an edge etc. Then it would be nice to have a way to share these dimensions, so if you want to change e.g. the wood panel thickness, you only have to do it one place. To solve this, i made an empty part file, and put all the shared parameters into it. Then I linked all my models to this file. (I could have just put all the parameters in one of the models, but it seemed too messy) Is there a better solution or is it not really a real problem? ;) I learned a lot from you videos, thank you! :)
@Neil3D8 жыл бұрын
+Hanne Petrine Verner Thanks :-) Nothing wrong with doing it that way, or you could have used an excel spreadsheet too. Sounds like a decent topic for a future vid tho! More to the point, are you in the mysterious 2% group of women who watch my stuff?! KZbin says 98% of my audience are men!

+TFI CAD Tips Haha, I guess I am in the mysterious 2%! :)
