but why only abundance not all the variables. We have to see the normality of only dependent variables or all the variables, as in my understanding if complete dataset looks normal then we can do parametric test else non parametric test

Good question! T-test determine whether there is a significant difference between the means of two groups. In order to perform T-test, observations from both groups should be approximately normally distributed. For more reading check this: researchbasics.education.uconn.edu/t-test/#
