I am from Taiwan. I was always a hip hop/rap fan. When I heard Paramore when I was studying high school abroad in Canada from 2007-2009 Paramore got me into band based music. It was because of Paramore I picked up my first electric guitar and started listening to other rock songs as well. Out of all their songs I clearly remember this song standing out. My favorite song by Paramore. Thank you @paramore!

I read in vulture that she explained that this song Conspiracy, she wrote it because record labels, managers, producers forced her to be a solo artist but she refused it and said she wanted the band. I guess this song is the beginning of all the drama that has happend through the years. But this song saids it all. She was so young and under a lot of pressure. This shows how dark and evil the music industry is and can be. Not a lot of people are aware of this, because they're too busy getting famous in the music industry, until you're in it. I'm glad Hayley kept the band and screamed at every show " WE ARE PARAMORE " And yes now she went solo but honestly she deserves it after all the crap she's been through.

This is one of my favorite Paramore songs, period. It really captures the sound of that time period too, brings me back to being 15-16 in high school, all the good alt rock out back then. Just really heavy, melancholy and emotional music that captures all those negative feelings you can't say and act as catharsis. I miss it, but I'm so blessed to have lived through that time as a teen. I can't fathom how talented they are to have done this so young. I'm the same age as Hayley and she's such an inspiration.

My interpretation of the lyrics is that her Confidant in the song is actually the one conspiring against her. The person she's putting her trust in is actually gaslighting her and filling her head with doubts about the people around her. Notice the uncertainty in the lyrics, "I need to know why we don't trust them," Hayley's character doesn't actually have any reason to doubt the other people, she's being TOLD why she shouldn't trust them.
