Tucker, thank you so much for sharing your perspective. You continue to be an amazing ambassador to the sport. I’m very sorry for your loss with Jeff. I know it will be figured out at some point what happened so that we can all learn from it. Secondly, super glad you spoke about that reserve post on Facebook. I was definitely curious on your perspective. I feel the same way you do and I’m glad that I had the exact same Paramotor you do along with the reserve. Finally, regarding the fire in the air, the one thing I would like to share with all Parajet maverick owners is to make sure you check your fuel line as the new airbox strap tends to rub it and mine was almost cut through. I caught it doing a thorough preflight. This is a PSA for any parajet maverick users! Please check the airbox strap and how it rubs on the fuel line.

Tucker. As a hang glider pilot who lived thru the 70s and 80s and is still flying . During those times the fatality rate was well bad , very bad. I remember friends and good pilots too dying and by the time both hand fingers were filled up the impact it had my flying was detrimental. The truth is their are risks to everything. Persevering we hope to discover better equipment, safer skills better attitudes and maintaining better flying envelopes. After the 80s hang gliding deaths went way down and today it is much safer to fly with good rule following. You are spot on with your channel and defiantly correct on reserves. Your informative channel is a true tribute to your friend and his family. I carry all the fine people I've flown with that have passed every time i fly. There is that time when flying smooth air under the clouds , a spiritual holy momment where the past ,present and future connect and communicate. In a very humbled suttle moment. And everything that has lived graciously smiles.

The problem with having a camera is peole take more risks than they normaly would to make a cool video. It is also one more thing that can take your focus away from flying and looking the surrounding for other flying things, or other dangerous things. Some people have crashed because of cameras, during a wing collapse, a line wrapped around the camera.

I just came back to the channel today after a hiatus, and im very sorry for your loss. Grieving the loss of your friend is one of the hardest things a human can endure. My dad has worked for the Forrest service fighting wildfires in California for over 20 yesrs, i grew up around all the members of his crew and would play volleyball with them and some of the hotshot crews in the summer. And some years, some didnt come back. I remember a family friend of ours back in 2009 named Thomas, who died during a in a rappelling drill. I had been to young at the time, only being 9 and i hadnt really understood what death meant yet until that point. Most recently now 2019, someone who i was familiar with, his name was Dan, passed away in a helicopter crash while he's running aerial ignition in Texas. I used to play badminton and ping-pong with him. He was a fire captain working under my Dad, who had just become superintendent for Lake Tahoe. My family misses him terribly, but he passed doing what he loved and helping others. Jeff was a good man, and he was an ambassador for the sport. We all mourn his loss with you

Losing friends to a sport that you share hurts bad. I was one of the early hang glider enthusiasts. I built my first hang glider in 1971. The early 70s was a time of experimentation and learning. I lost many very close friends to hang gliding accidents. A best friend who the day before you were laughing so hard with that your sides hurt, is now gone. Those were the best of times and the worst of times.
