sadly i can put only 1 thumbs up..... thanks for the video. I was scared of repairing 2 strokes engine but you make it very simple.

Very grateful you guys are doing this series since I'm pretty sure I'll be getting one someday very soon :)

Does anyone in this industry ever check piston to cylinder clearance or ring gap tolerance? Not to mention crank - rod bearing slop or wrist pin bearing slop. Seems there is probably a lot of loose engines getting put back in service. How about putting the piston on in the correct direction? The arrow on the piston dome points to the exhaust port. These are fine videos, but there is a lot more fine details to properly inspecting and assembling even a simple two smoker.

"How about putting the piston on in the correct direction" My friend made that mistake, it's an easy one to make. The motor ran but it ran poorly and it stumped everybody at EFD for days.

Yep, the arrow is a little EXIT sign. "Exhaust gases flow in this direction".

I've seen this comment twice but I want to stress it so it gets answered. What oil and mixture rate did John fly the motor at for 350 hours?

Great video, thanks. I'm not sure if you mentioned it, but when I install the Cir-clips I make sure the gap is facing up (towards the top of the piston) or facing down (towards the crank). I have seen cir-clips pop out during highspeed run-ups, and by orienting the gap correctly there will be less of a chance it will pop out.

I was hoping for a squish test demonstration. My Moster lost a lot of power after my 100 hr maintenance, and I believe the squish is the problem.
