Paramount's Kings Island OCTOBER 2006

Don't get too excited. There's a reason why I never posted most of this footage. It's not my best work. But it does offer a glimpse into life at Kings Island just months after Paramount sold the park to Cedar Fair. Filmed Sunday, October 8, 2006.

I have been thinking about this year lately. 2006, a better time in so many ways. The year I discovered Bob Dylan's music and the year I started riding roller coasters. Really good timing since 2006 was the first year you could go to Cedar Point and Kings Island with the same pass. A lot of excitement in the air for the upcoming Maverick at CP and Firehawk at KI. Someone out there with a time machine, take us back.

I always love your videos. Kings Island is my home park and its killing me that the park is still closed right now. I love the history of Kings Island and love seeing old footage of it. If you have anymore footage from the mid 90's-early 2000's I would love to see it. I would love to relive my childhood of Kings Island.

Kings Island was empty without Diamondback and Banshee in my opinion. What year did Son of Beast close?

Closed in 2009, demolished in 2012.

Closed for the first time in Summer 2006. Reopened Summer 2007 without the loop, and with new trains, closed for the final time in 2009. It would later be demolished in 2012.
