When I was in the 6th grade after watching this movie in theaters, a mean boy who I thought was my friend gave me a homophobic slur for listening to Justin Bieber. My heart shattered into a million pieces after what he said to me. Every night before another tragic day in middle school, I was listening to this song to help me get through the toughest times with dignity and peace. Fast forward to my adult years, I was in a terrible situation where I nearly gave up on life. When I heard this song again, it felt like an old friend was talking to me. I had never felt peace in my life once the song was over. I still listen to this song whenever I feel anxious, lonely, heartbroken, angry, or depressed. It’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard in my life.
