S.Aishwarya, the Great Granddaughter of Bharat Ratna M.S.Subbulakshmi and Granddaughter of Dr.Radha Viswanathan (Daughter and disciple of M.S) is a Rising Star of Carnatic Music. Aishwarya began learning on Vijayadashami Day of 1999, directly from both her Great Grandmother Bharat Ratna M.S.Subbulakshmi and Grandmother Smt.Radha Viswanathan. She has been training under Karnataka Kalashree Vidushi Jambu Kannan for the past 14 years. S.Aishwarya also learns Hindustani Vocal from Pandit Nagaraja Rao Havaldar and Sri.Omkarnath Havaldar. Presently Aishwarya is under the guidance of Violin Maestro Nada Yogi Sri.V.V.Subrahmanyam. Aishwarya has also been learning the Veena from Vidwan.A.Shankararaman (a disciple of Vidushi Rajeshwari Padmanabhan ­of the Karaikudi Bani).

Rangapura vihara Ragam Brungavana Saranga Rupakam Talam Muthuswami Dikshitar Krithi Rangapura Vihara is a famous Carnatic song composed by Muthuswami Dikshitar and dedicated to Sri Ranganathaswamy of Srirangam. Srirangam, the premier Vaishnava temple in South India is the first and foremost among the 108 Vaishnava divyadesas. All the Alvars have sung in praise of the deity enshrined in the huge temple in the center of the town. The Sri Vaishnava Acharyas from Nathamuni are found to have taken an active and abiding interest in the management of the temple. During Ramanuja’s time, far reaching reforms were introduced both in the religious and secular management. Thus Srirangam has an eventful history, both secular and religious, as the great Vaishnava Acharyas made it the headquarters of the wider Vaishnava movement. This kriti is in the eighth (Sambodhana Prathama) Vibhakti In this kruti Dikshitar praises Rama who graced himself as Ranganatha at Srirangam.He says that he is none other than Govinda,Venkataramana and Mukunda. A minor raga, capable of giving a tranquilizing effect it has the following arohanam: S R2 M1 P N3 S avarOhaNam: S N2 P M1 R2 G2 R2 S Ri, Ma and Ni figure both as jiva svara and nyasa svara. Ga is only used sparingly in this rAgam and some books differentiate between brindAvana sArangA and brindAvanI based on the usage of Ga. There is also lot of confusion between the two rAgams based on the usage of Ni. For example, T.M.Krishna in a lecture demonstration says Brindavanasaranaga has only Kaishiki nishada and NO kakali . Brindavani as we understand it TODAY has both nishada. there was a time when brindavasarana and brindavani referred to the same raga which had only kaishiki nishada and no kakali nishada.. There are heavy classical songs, however, it is best suited for post-main part of the concert. Some famous songs in Brindavana Saranga include: • Rangapura Vihara, Sowndara Rajam, Swaminathena by Dikshitar • Kamalaptha Kula by Thyagaraja • Enta Matramuna (part of the song) by Annamacharya • Kaliyuga Varadhan by Periyasami Thooran
