I can feel her brokenness as she sings "Smother". I felt the same, I was always "too much" for him. I gave my everything and it hurt me. I get attached too quickly and have a deep fear of abandonment instilled in me. "Sometimes I wish I stayed inside my mother, never to come out", I've tried to take my own life before, and I often have dark thoughts. I'm working on it more now. Life's funny sometimes, and it's finally getting better now. I used to believe I didn't deserve to be happy. That I'll always be hurting and scared. I feel grateful to be alive. I love life and I have learnt how to really appreciate it more now. Whoever's reading this, I'm sending you love. Stay safe friend

yesssss, i love dead silence = when the audience is quietly really listening = respectfully, deep and almost "religiously", yes quite very seldom ,yes indeed . Pretty sure that i've sometimes experienced this in my numerous Marillion gigs, but probably other artists also...Very true with Daughter, hope they'll keep on having success with that kind of beautiful soft calm atmospheres, though i could enjoy some less quiet moments, they stll have my preferences...cheers.

I always listen to Daughter after a break up. It helps me heal and get over the heart break. I've been non stop listening the last 2 months since my breakup of a 2 year relationship so I get you. Proof that less is more when it comes to art. It's astonishing to me that such a young band has put out two LPs, a couple of EPs and some singles and there's not a single bad song on any of them. They make albums that you have to listen to in their entirety or you miss out. I'd sell both my corneas and at least one of my livers to see them in person.

I've been listening to daughter for nearly 5 years and I haven't stopped loving them since I first discovered them (which I am so glad I did). One of my life goals is to literally go to one of their concerts and watching this is making me internally scream with how much passion and love I have for them. i saw these guys play in a tiny room in cardiff in 2009/10 where 90% of the crowd was sat down cross legged. probably a 100 cap room at most and i remember feeling haunted by their music. i was in awe of what i was seeing and have loved them since. seen them live on many occasions but to see them in that room was unreal.
