What's crazy iis Prime, if I understood what I saw in a video correctly: They don't have a load board. They get assignments just like company drivers but they still have those lease payments

Good info Country. So many variables even when you have a smaller payment or own the truck outright. Your maintenance costs go up as the truck ages but if one follows a a good maintenance plan nothing should come as surprise. Definitely the rates are climbing sightly up here in the NE and more loads on the board. Again we are dealing with contract freight and the broker / spot market loads won’t be on the new board until January.

To answer the question yes and no!! I got a SFI truck and was at SNI and I couldn’t hang on. Only was grossing 3800-4000 and a whole lot of deadhead and load cancellations. I live in Tuscaloosa not far from where you were but I always had to deadhead 2-300 miles from home and back home which in turn I call myself trying to stay out 2 weeks to eat the cost of going home. I did team and solo and I can honestly tell you I was running my truck in the ground on those low rates SNI has. Everybody that’s on the SNI company side thinks it’s gonna be the same with the freight abundance well I can tell you that’s a NO!! I left SNI for a small company where I’m dispatched but I still can gross 5-5500. I don’t pay for tolls where when I was with SNI the best freight is a mixture of Ohio and the northeast so I also got tired of paying tolls.

What up Country? I've been a company driver with Schneider since August on the Costco account, really enjoying it so far. This is probably a dumb question, but since you're an IC taxes still need to be deducted from your net settlement amount correct?

I did the math for you, you make pre tax $1000.00 per week $4000.00 per month $12000.00 per quarter & $52000.00 per year, best case scenario post tax is somewhere around $45K How $52K is worth the risk lease ops take is beyond me……especially when there are plenty of company driver jobs that pay $85 to $100K +
