This feels like a perfect opening song to use for a Shou themed fan game

This song really conveys a sort of a "Judgement Day" vibe. Bishamonten is here, and he's not happy.

One part I think Kafka's translation throws you off at while being stellar nonetheless is translating 欲 "yoku" in the second line as lust, which would be 性欲. 欲 on its own just means "desire" or "want", so it's totally neutral and doesn't have the connotation of sexual desire that lust specifies. Makes way more sense in the context of the lyrics which explicitly mention the five great sins.

In ancient texts, lust means desire. And well someone told me that Touhou vocals are to be interpreted as if the character whose theme it is is the singer. So for Shou it's completely normal to use lust that way.

I am a translator myself, but for most part Kafka's translations have been flawless especially the modern ones. Even the one 10 years ago are amazing for that time. No one else deep dives into the context or the implied meaning like he does.

About 3 years too late, but part of the beat reminds me of Beyonce's naughty girl, specifically at 0:18

Om vaishravana swaha means "May all of my work be completed with Vaishravana's (Bishamon) grace." Everything else is good translation by kafka.

I'm talking about what is sung behind the parts that start with "Broken your soul" and end with "terminate of all." I said "english" because the lyrics don't make grammatical sense...
