Absolute TOP content !! In the first place because of the focus on the athletic nuances and not the disability. Secondly I like the cross-over between the channels & presenters. Now it also clicked why Maya (& that Matrix-bike too) seemed so familiar, seeing her on an episode of Valenti San Juan's channel... Bravo!!

What a fascinating and important video. I loved the comment "these people are just blind. They are athletes". Bloody incredible athletes too if I may say so, there was serious speed on display even just during a training session!

Love this!! I'm a VI triathlete- it's tough to find someone willing to step up and guide- hopefully this will help!! 👌🏻👌🏻❤️❤️

How does one become a guide?
@nrbeck15 жыл бұрын
James Westgate register with United in Stride. I did. I have found some people in my area to train with that are visually impaired. I don't want to get matched and be a turd of a guide.

I only just found this video, but this is awesome! I’m a VI athlete and have been spending the last couple months really getting into cycling on my tandem. My pilot just so happens to be a triathlete. Because of my pilot I’ve been thinking of giving tri a go! I can’t express how much it means to see content about para athletes. THANK YOU GTN!

New matt Stephen - can't clip in

Caleb so mean of the editor to use that clip, the only time I struggled ;0
@DanHoopes2115 жыл бұрын
We ride tandems a ton. It's a little difficult for the stoker to clip in regardless because the pedal is moving away from their foot. Hard to get enough pressure on the downstroke to clip. Not fair to use your first attempt! 😅

Ladies and Gents of GTN, you need to update your KZbin home page banner to include Fraser in there. He's been part of the team for ages now.

AMAZING show!! I am a visually impaired triathlete B3 from Wales. Having relatively recently started triathlon, I am now finding that my swim and, to some extent my running times would be very competitive. However, I am finding it quite difficult getting guides and finding racing tandem bikes at good prices. I was wondering if you had any advice or would know anyone who may be able to help as you were at the British Paratriathlon day. Also, do you know where you got your swimming tether, as the only one I can find is attached to the hip. Thank you.

What a great story!! Great to see such wonderful athletes in our sport. We have a very successful paratriathlete in our club, who is visually impaired who has competed at Worlds successfully; Lindy Hou from Canberra. She trains with our Females in Training squad. www.fit.org.au. We are very proud of her! Again, great work highlighting these great representatives of our sport.

I am not sure if that mavic rear wheel is suitable for tandem use

I see the crank arms all in the same position, wouldn’t it be beneficial to rotate one of them 90* to have one rider push the other trough the dead spot? Or does that make it too hard to pedal in sync?
@heatherfell_oly5 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Zappala you’ll need to ask the professionals, but I’ve never seen that, it would put you off balance and not work on corners or when standing up.
@ethositachi5 жыл бұрын
You naturally rock a bike left to right a bit as you pedal to get more of your weight over it, the harder you push the more you do this (otherwise you would have to brace yourself entirely using your hands and core which is tough). Therefore with tandems the rocking should also be in sync
