Thanks very much both of you, always happy to help. :o) These scope aren't perfect (I'd love an external rat-tail control, external mic, option to record in 4:3 ratio and a better mount), but there is a UK made fully adjustable mount coming out before the end of the year. Keep an eye on my channel for news on that ASAP. BTW the full Pard008LRF manual is available to download here: drive.google.com/file/d/1JA7l4TSsMRzMW1aoXfYn9IiE-Jh0uIbP/view?usp=sharing ...including how to move the LRF aiming box [X] to coincide with the centre of the LRF laser 'splash' at your preferred zero range. Very interesting. I started shooting over 40 years ago when the very mention of night vision would of had you sectioned. PCP guns and kit have moved on so much over the years. I still have my HW35 in .25cal with red dot, old type which requires both eyes to be kept open. Which has accounted for 1000's of rats over the years. Great channel and look forward to seeing more 👍

thanks, great video, keep flying the flag for wales. After owning my pard for three months, finally worked out why so many of my shots were off. There is a silver shime underneath the mount that preventing me mounting the pard centre. I had it mounted in a way that it was off-centre by 5mm. Back on the pigeons tomorrow so hopefully more kills.

Amazing that the add on IR made a zero difference (why I wonder, it's just a light....) Anyway, you've saved me from shooting myself after being frustrated being on target, off target etc. Point of aim change on x6 against x13 and I couldn't understand why I was missing - NOW I DO. Excellent scope and review, I just cant get past the mounting position! I own a couple of ATN 4K scopes and the pard mounts like the old X sight 2 which is now 5 years old!! Modern scope manufacturers need to be looking at the mounting styles of the Digex and ATN 4k. Especially if they want to be charging big money!

yes your right for me i dont have any issues because my both rifles have rails built onto them so its straight forward but if you are putting them to a flat weaver rail the pard will need a new mount or to be shimmed from the back of the mount you would think the money they charge they would of tested them fully before making sales thank you very much for watching all the best P.P.P.C

I got the 008, and bolted the Boblov type range finder onto the side. Saved me around £250 and it works well. Too be honest I considered buying the LRF version, but I could not justify the extra cash. On the plus side the Boblov has its own power source. In comparison to the cost of the Pard, the Boblov is almost a throw away item. With the money I saved I purchased an adjustable Eaglevision mount and strapped all this onto a HW110.

The best scope review I've seen, thank you. I bought a Hikmicro Alpex late Feb and, although I really like the scope, I need LRF for my sub 12 rabbit hunting. So, I'm already looking to replace the Alpex, with either a Cheetah LRF or a Pard (DS35 or 008 LRF). Personally, I'm not impressed how the reticle doesn't adjust when you increase mag but, I guess if you have LRF and a ballistic calculator it doesn't matter that much. Still undecided which scope to go for but, your video has really steered me towards a Pard. Thank you! :)

I have pard nv008 p, for about 10 months. After about a month on using it on my CZ 455 22lr I have decided to use a different kind of ammo so I’ve needed to re-zeroed it. Thats when my problems started. After rezeroing it I’ve noticed that my Pard is changing x and y coordinates on its own, lets say my y coordinate was 68, every time I would enter the reticle adjustment in menu to check it out it would drop for 2 degrees, from 68 to 66 then to 64 etc, and it would stop on about 60. I’ve contacted salesman, and he sent Pard to England where the manufactors restarted it and updated software. After I’ve got it back, the problems just continued as before + reticle is not centered now so I should shim it which problem I didn’t have on the begining. Currently my Pard even shows different coordinates one the same profile (A) when magnification is 6x and 13x. Does anyone have similar problems??? Im planning to ask for refund or brand new Pard. Is it possible that I was doing something wrong while rezeroing it? I mean how hard it can be… P.S. I’ve never tried to download firmware on my own or do any similar action that could mess it up. Thanks to anyone who tries to help.

Another great video matey! I received my new 008P at the end of September - I ordered it in mid-June! Not had many opportunities to give it full test yet, but now the nights are really drawing in, I'm sure that will change . I did not buy the LRF version as I have an MTC Rapier LRF, which is a great range finder. At c.£900 for the 008 LRFP version, compared to £650 for the non-LRFP model it was not worth the extra for my purposes. PARD is clearly going head to head with ATN at the 'base' price level. To get the ballistic calculator/range finder on the ATN will cost you another c.£350. (Not an option on the PARD - - - - Yet?) However, the ATN cannot compete on optical or video quality with the PARD, especially the Plus versions which have the new OLED displays. I find it amazing that over the past 45+ years I have been shooting air rifles, we have developed from shooting basic Springers with a Webley (or similar) 4X20 scope (with the optical quality of a Smartie Tube), to phenomenal PCPs, and Springers with military grade night and day vision optics! Who would have thought!!! Perhaps we are too spoiled for choice? Keep up the great work bud. TTFN.

Only issue is the mounting bracket that comes with the pard. the 2 dovetail screws are too close together to fit either side of the ejection port. so you will need a picatinny adapter rail which raises the pard high over the bore line but still works great.

What reason would the range finder be used for, does it read off the ranger finder and compensate ? Ie, the cross hairs will be on target after you have checked the range ? Thanks
@pontypoolpestcontrol3 жыл бұрын
as far as i no only the ATN as the ballistic calculator that moves the cross hairs the reason you need a range finder is over distance the pellet will drop so if you set up using the mildots you can work out at what range the pellet drops and where it will land if it makes sense i will add this in my next video like this or i already have one up in my scope set up video i hope this helps thanks for watching all the best P.P.P.C

Hello sir do you have an automatic ballistic for distance? For example, at a distance of 50 meters, zero at different distances (100 meters, 150 ....) automatically calculates the distance or we have to use the data
@kenmorrison17253 жыл бұрын
I have what may seem like a stupid question. Does the reticle remain consistent when you change the zoom back and forth? Ie if you shoot on full mag at a range then drop the mag shoot at a lower mag then go back to full mag is the hold over the same when you come back to full mag? Cracking vid as always btw

@@pontypoolpestcontrol I understand shooting at different mag will change point of aim point of impact unless using ffp scope what I mean is when you shot at high mag then low mag then back to high mag when you went back to high mag did the point of aim point of impact come back to what it was when you previously shot on high mag? I just wondered because it's a digital reticle not a physical one

Hi - great video. I’m on my second PARD nv008P LRF. I bought the second to go on my FAC .22 R10. My shooting buddy got another as well. I have to say I’m struggling with it as I can’t get any clarity of image beyond 30 metres. I get eye shine but can’t get a clear image of a rabbit. It doesn’t matter what setting the IR is set on but its grainy and frustrating. My mate is suffering the same issue. If we use an IR torch on the target the image is crystal clear so it’s clearly an IR issue. Has anyone else had this issue? It’s a genuine uk model from a trusted well known supplier

A lot of the Pard reviews I've seen are just to say that the ATN is better, as if the price tags don't matter. At least yours is honest. I have a Pard (no LRF), and I'm very happy with it. I also had a 007 before this one and also no complaints, except for the trouble to attach the base to the scope properly...but it's only once. About the magnification and POI: because it's digital, the 13x mag. has half of the pixels, so for example, if one holds 1 mildot at 6,5...you have to hold 2 mildots at 13x. Could it be better?...SURE...and it could also be much more expensive, so... And by the way, I have not heard anyone complain about software problems on the Pard...unlike some other very expensive NV scopes out there... The only glitch is the noise on the videos, but guess what, it only happens with the battery on the low side. Congratulations for this video. 👍

I am confused. I was in the army and qualified Expert. Was trained to put cross hair dead center of target. Why do you go to let or right of bulls eye. It makes no sense to to.
@pontypoolpestcontrol3 жыл бұрын
The bull is huge there are small numbers i used for point of aim to keep a better group example if you was aiming at a 50p coin your cross could be anywhere on the coin as you pull the trigger giving you a bigger group but if you aimed at a match stick head it would keep it alot smaller if it makes sence and in your training you also use bullet guns wind will not effect them until a few 100 yards and the also fly alot flatter so like you said just aim on the cross thanks for watching keep safe all the best P.P.P.C

Superb and honest review. The POI shift when using your IR is very odd, neither of my NV008s suffer from that although one does have the IR laser focussed a fraction off centre; maybe I knocked the lens, which results in a dark patch on the left hand side of my image - easily remedied by adjusting the IRs field of view a little bit.

Great review...I own an ATN X-Sight and thought of the PARD before my purchase. We each have different needs and many people will say one is better than the other when it’s really just preference. I love the clarity of the PARD and it’s size. The one difference for me was the ballistic calculator which eliminates holdover/under; wish the PARD had it. Appreciate your honest review on the PARD and the obstacles you found and overcame.

Greetings from Texas. Awesome video, the content was exactly what I’ve been looking for, well made, too. I’m trying to decide between the ATN and the Pard, ATN does have some nice features, but, size and reliability are a concern. Two questions, if I may; is it possible that the Pard could add a ballistics calculator and make it a FFP with a software upgrade? Also, I’ll be using it on center fire rifles with 150 grain bullets, do you think the recoil will be detrimental to holding zero/life of the scope?
@pontypoolpestcontrol3 жыл бұрын
Hell WELSHTEXAS thank you very much for your kind words i really do appreciate it 😊 as for putting it onto a bullet gun yes there will be no problem as it doesn't lose zero no matter what you do to it so recoil will be fine as for the balistic calculator im not to sure thanks for watching all the best P.P.P.C

I like the look of the scope. Currently I only have a nitro piston 22 air rifle, but would like to buy a 22 rimfire. Would the vibration of the air rifle be too excessive for the scope? I see its not tested with spring/piston air rifles.. (but works OK with a 308!)

Point of impact change on different zoom settings is because it is a 2nd focal plane reticle, that is to say when you zoom in the reticle stays the same as apposed to first focal plane where the reticle also gets bigger when you zoom in.
