Anyone who wants to use the laser reddot. It was disabled to get UK certification, but is still present. Undo the 4 screws at the eyepiece end of the scope and carefully lift it up. There is a lose plug attached to a pair of red and black wires. Plug it in to the socket on the PCB then reassemble being careful of the cables as you put the eyepiece back together.

My 007 has not got this feature, the red dot pointer would be great as I have a shooting partner and sometimes we struggle on permissions when I can see eye shine and my partner can't, very handy little tool.

Good review. I'd add that as when mounting for the first time it's worth checking the physical alignment of the NV008 on its mount so that the reticle appears centrally in recordings. There's a little play in the mount so at first only attach the Pard to its bracket by the front screw, not too tight. Sit the gun on a bench rest and take a shot, then see if the back of the Pard needs to swing left or right to centre the windage. The supplied shims are rectangular with the screw hole off centre so whichever side needs packing across put the tag of the shim that way across the rear scre hole only. When tightened down this will help centralise the windage adjustment and add some fixed moa elevation so that the reticle appears central on recordings.

I have the LRF version. The rangefinder is not in the left hand Picatinny rail but attached to the right of the sight. On sub 12 foot pound airguns I've found you need to put shims under the rear of the scope or the crosshairs are very low on the screen when you zero it. I have it on a Crosman 2250 XL at the moment.

Well , this Scope is certainly not made to be on a small, Lower Power 2250. No wonder it needs shims 🤦🏼♂️

I've got the NV008lrf and it is just great. The night vision works very well. My only gripe is a familiar one for its owners -- the scope and its platform almost always needs to be shimmed or even put on a riser mount. Otherwise you might well run out of negative X axis while trying to zero it. You run out at neg 300 but still aren't down far enough. I fixed it with a nice mount I got on ebay, but it cost an extra hundred bucks to do it. Well worth it though. And the business about storing zero settings once established is really great and makes switching between distances on the same rifle a snap. Brilliantly useful.

Hi Andy good review 👍 yes you can put the pard straight on a dovetail rail but it will sit 5mm to one side because its designed for a weaver rail. For a dovetail you need 2 adapters

Great review as always Andy, when you put the X and Y offset in and save it, turn the unit off then back on, it will auto put the offset in and your crosshairs will appear bang on in the middle of the screen, yours were a little to the bottom and to the left. i Have the 007 which works the same way.:)

I have two NV008 units (the predecessor). One on a .25 FAC FX Impact and the other on a .17 Hornet. I'd like an LRF version for the Impact but the Hornet shoots so flat that range isn't an issue for bunny/fox bashing and the LRF is a costly addition that doesn't really affect performance. I have to say that they are fabulous. I use them both at night about 80% of the time and the in-built IR easily reaches 150m on the lowest setting as the gain is really effective.

I bought mine about 3 years ago for my 243 in Australia. It needs a nicely matched illuminator. Aside from that I found that it was not good for my 243 but sensational for my 17HMR. The perfect bunny kit for me in Australia. The bracket is not good for my Sako but fine on my Savage. Just make sure that it is turned off completely before taking out the battery. Take spare batteries with you.

Excellent review Andy Iv'e the older version and I love it. It's worth mentioning a couple of points. The internal IR can be focused via pulling (Firmly but gently) on the collar around the lense. It'll be stiff the first time you use it though. The second is that you can use the aimpoints for different ammunition as well as different ranges as I use 2 types of pellet depending on if I'm doing target work or hunting.

Great review Andy. I ordered my NV008P in June and (finally) got it on 24th September. Boy. it was well worth the wait! You are dead right. The brilliant case and the bespoke bag are both immediately redundant once you fit the scope?????? Go figure!!! Otherwise, a fantastic piece of kit for any shooter who wants/needs night vision. As you say, it's certainly not just for air rifles. The on-board IR is great out to 150 metres, and is still effective out to 200 metres. If you need more distance, it is easy to fit a more powerful IR illuminator. The upgrade from the previous model is well worth waiting for. The upgraded OLED display is terrific, and the addition of gyroscopic ability, allows cant and elevation to be seen clearly. As the price is only a few pounds up from the previous model, it is really well worth waiting for the 'P' version in my opinion. Sadly, the LRF(P) version is now around £250 more than the standard version, so one has to decide if that extra cost is worth paying. I already have an MTC Rapier LRF, so it's not for me. Re. the WiFi software, I have dowloaded 'OK CAMPlus' which seems to work OK, so might be worth having a look at. I suspect once you use it for a while, you will buy one!! Great stuff matey!

I have pard nv008 p, for about 10 months. After about a month on using it on my CZ 455 22lr I have decided to use a different kind of ammo so I’ve needed to re-zeroed it. Thats when my problems started. After rezeroing it I’ve noticed that my Pard is changing x and y coordinates on its own, lets say my y coordinate was 68, every time I would enter the reticle adjustment in menu to check it out it would drop for 2 degrees, from 68 to 66 then to 64 etc, and it would stop on about 60. I’ve contacted salesman, and he sent Pard to England where the manufactors restarted it and updated software. After I’ve got it back, the problems just continued as before + reticle is not centered now so I should shim it which problem I didn’t have on the begining. Currently my Pard even shows different coordinates one the same profile (A) when magnification is 6x and 13x. Does anyone have similar problems??? Im planning to ask for refund or brand new Pard. Is it possible that I was doing something wrong while rezeroing it? I mean how hard it can be… P.S. I’ve never tried to download firmware on my own or do any similar action that could mess it up. Thanks to anyone who tries to help.

Well done young man. I have the 008P and like it. However the laser red spot has been removed even though it has laser warnings are still present. You could have mentioned the roll and pitch indications, hence the “P” (I guess). They expect most guns will need shimming as they provide the shims which located at the rear of the rail/sight. Keep up the good work.

Hi. Bought one a few months ago and my only gripe is the over threading in the battery compartment. Be careful when reinserting the batter as the body seems to be a softer material, poss magnesium, than the screw cap. Meaning if not seated correctly you will cross thread very easily. Luckily I took this back my local dealer and was RE threaded under warranty, but still feel very conscious about a re occurrence. Paul

I have had pards 008’s since they very first came out and am now on the newer 008Lrf with the same Oled screen version as you have. I have it mounted to my fac mk2 impact and I think they are fantastic bits of kit! My only gripe is with the mount but I overcame that with an aftermarket one. Unfortunately Shimming is aways pretty much a factor with these. I can’t stand a Reticule being off centre but with a bit of faffing it can be sorted. Other then that it’s a great bit of kit. I'm going to throw the cat amongst the pigeons, I have a later ATN 4K pro and have never had any issues with it's functionality. I agree it's a lump and heavy. I later bought a Pard 008p so to swap over my ATN to be used on another rifle. I carefully mounted the Pard correctly to The Picatinny rails fitted to my rifle that the ATN had previously used and then next to go out and zero the Pard. The rifle bolt can foul on the rear mount clamp so this has to be taken in consideration when positioning the mounting. The unit has about 7 holes on the mount so it can be moved back or forwards so to get the correct eye relief. Eye relief is only 35mm and the rubber shroud has an annoying eyelid/eye lash contact. I had to set the unit to its maximum adjustment to the rear to get an acceptable eye relief. Pard supply two 0.5mm shims to pack up the rear of the unit in an attempt to raise the cross hair from being too low. Also the cross hair was greatly misaligned in the image area after finding a satisfactory Zero. At 25 yards the first shot was about 15 inches low and 12 inches to the right and massively way off course. To get a zero it took considerable movement of the cross hair, making the cross hair noticeably out of centre to the viewable image area. The unit is secured by 3 engineering set Screws. I was advised to Zero the unit by the supplier with 1 set screw nipped up tight and the other lightly nipped up using any clearance on the mount slot either way by pointing the unit more towards the shot hole and then tighten up. (Creating an artificial Windage adjustment) 'Not good engineering practice'. If the set screws are fully tightened then unit will seat accordingly to the set screw and seat chamfers and will realign to the hole chamfers when correctly tightened. My thoughts that the cross hair misalignment is emphasised greatly by the unit being mounted more to the rear away from the barrel chamber centre line. Conventional scope cross hairs are closer to the chamber centre line. Other rifles such as Bullpups may be better suited to this type of mounting where the scope sits over the barrel and not to the rear of barrel centre line. When using the digital Zoom the cross hair misalignment is even worse positioned to the bottom right corner. I don't advise anyone to buy one of these. Other users on various forums have had similar problems and some may elect to live with this situation but not me I like to see the cross hairs in the middle of the viewable image area. The unit has since been returned to the supplier for a refund. The Pard manual is also not very good and I couldn't find Support for this unit on manufacturers website. But if you buy one these you may be luckier than me. To me it's something that should function in every aspect right out of the box without adding workarounds, fixes or bodges.

You make a good point, however it's always my practice to shim my scopes to an optical zero pretty close to my target zero before I finish zeroing. Shimming the Pard on to its mount is no more complicated or fiddly than shimming a scope tube on it's mounts. The only thing that makes it a little tricky is the mount is a little short so a small movement makes a big difference. As you say start off with just the front screw to see which way you need to go. With the scope on a bench take a shot on paper and pivot the back of the Pard around the front screw. Starting with 0.3mm shim under the rear of the scope and a packer to the left to fix it right in the bracket I adjusted until I got my X Y in to single figures. You only have to do it once and it's the same as I have done for all my other scopes. 👍

Let me give you the review 😉, it's a beautiful but heavy rifle , shoots like a charm if you add a huma regulator and shoot some few hundred pellets through the barell , the lesser power you turn the hammer spring , the smoother the cocking is ,mine is set at the lowest power and it's butter smooth . I've shot a lot of birds with it and it's the gun I use to shoot our chicken 🐔 grazing in the open whenever we have guest , anyway the only drawback I found was the trigger being a little finicky and the bsa magazine that sometimes have problems with some pellets . I've been using it for 5 years and had only changed the o ring once ,got the spares from Kirkwood shop . Shot counts not so good if you're using it at high power but at the lowest possible setting it's pellet on pellet @30 metres . No regrets so far 👍

I would have liked all the buttons and also the lens adjustment to be on the right side of the unit. Too many functions to handle with left hand while aiming in my opinion

Hey all, does anyone know if the Sytong Sound (microphone) is any better than the Pard 008 or are they the same. I know the Mic on the Pard is under the cap so is not that good.

Old eyes plus early morning definitely gains a lot from some sort of light amplification. My only gripe is that none of them so far seem to be 1080P, which would make it super useful for long-range filming.

The display that you view is not 1080p, but the sensor and recording is.

If you buy a decent scope then buy a decent add on night vision it will cost you more than the pard. You can set 5 different zeros and choose from 5 different reticle. Its superb quality in day and night vision

Cheaper than buying a good scope and a worthwhile NV Add-On. Depends what you're doing with it though. As a tool it's great.

It depends on how badly you want to shoot at night I guess.
