Haven't had a chance to test if it holds zero, but mounts just fine and has nice clear glass. Centered vertically true to a plumb line with the crosshairs which is always a plus!It's a great kzbin.infoUgkxc4K63Fd5LglDMObu7-Bgapxp_ef0W8hE scope. There's no parallax adjustment or focus ring, so may be limited to 3-7x, have to see how it is on the range. Also be aware that the rings are "look through" so you can still use irons, but they are really tall if you only intend to use the optics. On a 22LR no biggie since I'm not shooting competitions or worried about a hard cheek press. Will boresight and range test, if all goes well, I'll leave it at that!

Thanks for the review. I was really looking out for one. (and you beat Russ and Bruce to it) I already bought one last week, but after my first try out I was a little put-off that the reticle wasn't in the middle after zeroing. Like you said "two shims in the back" is most of the time nessisairy. And so it was with mine.. and now it is perfect!! Same for the ballistic calculator. YESYESYES It works perfectly! I had different targets set out at random distances, en everytime (after LRF-ing) the .22 pellet was spot-on in the middle! ..almost boring.. Make sure that all the required numbers are filled in (weight, BC etc) and the Pard does the rest. I'm happy with my purchase, but there are a couple of things I do not like very much. ..the rubber eye-piece is a little too sturdy, and doesn't give me a good view on the screen. (my big nose is in the way) So maybe when I have the guts to do it.. I'll remove it eventually. Second thing; ..when focussing all the way left or right.. the focusring gets a little stuck. Maybe it will loosen eventually by using?! ..but also it gets blocked by either the IR on the left,or the rail on the right. ..or anyway.. it feels like so for me. I dont know how it is for you guys in the UK, but I bought mine with a 940nm IR on board, 'stead of the normal 850nm ..wich I find that the rats really CAN see!! ...but not so for 940nm. With that you are truly invisible.! I bought mine from JL-vision in the Netherlands for €995,00 incl tax.. and yes.. they do speak English Furthermore I found a difference between the LRF and a real 30 mtr measure thing. (dont know the name in English) They where not the same... But who cares what the real distance is.. as long as it works and the pellets land perfectly ..right?! All in all ...I am truly happy with my Pard nv008s LRF in 940nm. Go get yourself one before they get sold out. Grtz. Theo

Thanks this was just what i needed to know, it seems the calculator is doing it's job quite nicely till 50M and it gets my interest all above 70M yet it is still off a little and the cross hair does not have any distance (drop) markings so it is not going to do the job for 100 till 200M very well, a decent scoop has these drop markings but then you need to know the distance adding the need of a distance meter ... i still prefer the old school way or i might look at some other higher end , this one is OK till 50M if you ask me.

If you could please help ?🙏
@airgunextra Жыл бұрын
Hi Peter. I believe I was using Air Arms Diabolo Field in the Delta Wolf and JSB King Heavy mk2 in the .25. I have been fiddling around with a few scopes that have a ballistic calculator function and thought I'd pass on two main learnings: 1. If you've zeroed your rifle and then find the groups are higher/lower at longer distance when you use the ballistic calculator, try adjusting the setting for feet per second. This will alter the impact point at those longer distances. If your groups are going high, then drop the FPS down. If they are going low then increase the FPS. Its a bit of trial and error, but once your group is on with the BC at a longer distance you should find it more accurate at other distances. Just check that your zero is still on. 2. If you find that your groups with the BC at longer distance are left or right, then re-adjust your reticle accordingly so that you are aiming and hitting the impact point. I've found that what appears to be a good zero at say 30 metres could in fact me out by a quarter or eighth of inch. When you add another 30 metres on top of that, that quarter or eighth of an inch turns into two or three inches. Again, just make sure your original zero still works. I hope that makes sense and is helpful. Good luck!

Hi Richard, happy subscriber here from WA state and new to the PCP fun. Just received an FX Wildcat BT and am looking for an available NV008S LRF. Two easy questions: which scope mount are you using in the vid, and how much more desirable is the -008S than the -008P? I ask because the 'P' is available here stateside but the 'S' is rarer than an intelligible Biden sentence.
@airgunextra2 жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks for subscribing. I love WA - spent a lot of time in Redmond and Bellevue for work... The good news is that the Pard NV008 comes with a mount and will go straight onto your Wildcat without the need to buy any kind of additional mount. The main difference between the S and P models is in the LRF (laser range finder) models of both. The S LRF has a ballistic calculator mode whereas the P LRF does not. If you're not bothered about having a range finder/ballistic calculator function, then the non LRF versions of the S and P are pretty much the same. I have both the NV008P LRF and the NV008S LRF models. Other than the ballistic calculator function they are the same in terms of optical performance and features. I hope that makes sense (at least more than if Biden explained it!).

Hi Richard, I have a question for you about the rubber eyepiece. I notised that you removed it before testshooting, and also in the previous vids about the old 008p. Was it a easy operation? ...I guess it's glued on.. true? I want to remove it also, but I guess I'm a little cowardly sinds it costs so much.. and I'm afrayd I won't be able to put it back on.. should I regret it later on. Right now I struggle to align my eyes to the screen to see all the info on it. And also compared to the rubber of the 008P, the new one seems even thicker and sturdier thus blocking a clear view. And another thing that's holding me back is that maybe the light radiating from the screen, might lit up my face in the dark and spook the rats. I'm really curious about your thoughts on this, and especially how you went about to remove the rubber eyepiece. Thanks in advance! ..I realy enjoy your extended-in-dept revieuws. grtz. Theo
@airgunextra2 жыл бұрын
Hi Theo. Thanks very much, I'm glad you like our vids. Personally I find the scope much easier to use without the eye cup and I get a much better picture. The eyecup is attached...a bit. Having removed it I can still put it on again as there is a small recess around the ocular lens. However, as I know I prefer to use the Pard without the cup I'm not too both about putting it back on again. I wouldn't worry too much about eye shine - I've not found it an issue with either rats or rabbits. However, you can turn the brightness down on the settings, or wear a face mask if you are concerned. Thanks again, Rich.

I also get a better view of the screen without the eyecup, but in certain lights outdoors I've found the scope almost impossible to use without it. As you say it's easy enough to put back on if necessary ...so long as you get it off in one piece! Mine was pretty securely glued on, but came off OK with a bit of care.

I use the same PARD 008SLRF scope as you, how do I set the "ScopeHt" value on the ballistic calculator? The default ScopeHt(mm)=70.10, what should this value be set to on FX Impact M3? Thanks!
@airgunextra2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ashwa. I simply measure the approximate distance between the middle of the barrel to the middle of the scope in mm with a ruler/tape measure. In the video I said that its worth fine tuning the set up once you've put a few shots through to ensure the ballistic calculator is working accurately for your set up. Playing around with the value you enter for scope height is one of the things you can adjust along with the other settings. At the end of the say, time spent on the range to ensure you have everything set up just right is the only way forward in my opinion. I hope that helps.

I believe the method of attaching changed and they are a little more permanent now so you have to make a decision as to whether you want the eye cup attached...or not. I prefer to remove mine which, as a glasses wearer, I find much better.

is there a difference on how to use the ballistic calculator from pard nv008s to nv008s LRF.?
@airgunextra2 жыл бұрын
Hi. There are two versions - the NV008S does not have a range finder or ballistic calculator. The NV008S LRF is the model with the range finder and ballistic calculator. The previous model (NV008P LRF) also had a range finder but no ballistic calculator. The range finder works by with a quick press on a button and the ballistic calculator works with another quick press of the same button which marks your revised aim point on the reticle. I hope that helps.

The ballistic calculator cannot work good if there is no ballistic profile selection - G1, G7, GA.

Yes, as explained in the video, you'll need to enter details relating to your set up - pellet weight, BC, fps, height between middle of the barrel and middle of the objective lens etc...You can save several different profiles.

A lot of people who are new to digital scopes struggle with what they perceive to be complexity. Explaining all the features, as well as how to shim (something that's often needed on this scope) and then shooting on the range is going to take time. I could have left a bunch of information out and done it in less time. I am not motivated by views - £0 is made from these videos. Instead all I aim to do is provide what is hopefully a useful and unbiased resource for those who are considering making a purchase. Thanks for watching anyway.

What a joke of a rifle scope. Which scope (day/night/cal) can zoom up to this or bigger target size (21:00) @ 100 meters?
@airgunextra2 жыл бұрын
I think you might be confusing the scope with the video camera at 21:00. You do realise that I walked up to the target with the video camera at 21:00 and its not footage through the scope right?

@@angelisone I'm sorry, I don't know what point you are making. The Pard Nv008S has 6.5 and 13x magnification, which is ample for airgun use (you do realise this is an airgun channel right?). Your ballistic calc will not work correctly especially the further you push the distance out to. The scope height measurement needs to be the point of aim (POI) of the scope to centre of barrel at the muzzle NOT the height from objective lens to barrel centre vertical when mounted.
