How come hardly anyone with a “step parent platform” talks about the step parent as high conflict?? It’s very common given the fact that children are at a much higher risk of abuse than children living with the bio parent- specifically a stepmom - the children’s risk of abuse goes up by over 40%!!!! Like whoa!! Studies statistically show that stepparents are more likely to be involved in abuse cases with step-children. It’s time we talk about the uncomfortable crap even if you are a stepmom, doesn’t mean you’re abusive, but try to find info in it online. Good luck! Let’s not paint the bio mom as the high conflict one all the time bc chances are she’s protecting her kids and setting much needed boundaries due to a step parent overstepping them.

This whole channel is for step moms who need support. Most step moms coparenting with a wonderful bio mom don’t need support. If we didn’t need help and support, there wouldn’t be a need for this type of platform. There are places for bio moms to talk about the struggles with a high conflict step parent, but that’s not what this space is for.
