Great video! For the ergobaby, does the weight of the baby fall on the velcro straps?? Are the straps strong enough for that?
@ParentingCentral7 ай бұрын
Hi there, it's very reasonable question and I've been ask a few times over the years demoing carriers. But the velcro isn't actually holding the weight of the baby, it's just holding the position/width of the panel. The centre of the panel is sewn onto the waistband. In the widest position the Velcro is holding baby's thighs up but I can't imagine the Velcro ever coming undone from the weight or even them pushing their legs down etc. I hope that helps!

I got mine three days ago. Regarding how tight to pull the shoulder straps at the sides: apparently the baby's back should be in a C-shape. If I pull it all the way tight, it looks more like a b-shape, where it pulls them forward around the lower back. Am I doing it wrong?

It's difficult to know exactly what's happening without seeing them but a couple of things I'm thinking: 1. Making sure when you're taking out the extra space from around your shoulders not just pulling the straps to tighten. I show this from 5:30 onwards. 2. If that's not it and they're a newborn/young infant maybe position the waistband a little higher to get a deeper "seat. 3. Try scooping their knees up and wiggle their bottom down deeply into the "seat" of the carrier. That will help get them into a soft C shape. (I can have a look through my videos because I dont show it in this one but I should have a video somewhere showing this) Let me know your thoughts. Hopefully one of those things helps.

Would you say that this is your most recommended carrier? 😊 I'm looking into getting one but there's so many choices it can be quite overwhelming. 😅 My major considerations would be: 1. Ease of use - I would be using it at home when alone with the baby and need to do some chores, it must be easy to put on and set up. 2. Comfort and breathability - we live in a tropical country 😁 I initially did not include the Omni 360 in my choices because I've heard it can be quite bulky. But so many reviews said that this Breeze version is much smaller now.

Hi there, great question! I completely understand it can be so confusing! I'll start with the easier questions - any carrier is going to be able to put it on yourself - in fact I think carriers often feel more complicated when someone tries to put one on you. Because it's easier for you to work out what feels right and comfortable on your own body. Omni 360 VS Omni Breeze - It does feel a bit softer and more flexible in the panel, so it does feel less bulky. Particularly for a newborn. In terms of the breathability - I had my second baby living in subtropics (Gold Coast, QLD) and found it didn't really matter which carrier I had her in we just sweated into each other anyway. Typically going for the "mesh" type carriers (like the Omni Breeze) will help keep you drier in that kind of sweaty humid environment. Alternatively lighter weight options like stretchy wraps or wrap hybrids. Less structure = less bulk. The bigger question! Is this the carrier I'd recommend the most? There's really no one carrier I'd recommend for all people. I do have a few comparison videos with the Ergobaby Omni Breeze if that's helpful to work out of this might be the right carrier for you OR if there's something better suited to your needs. Omni Breeze VS Ergobaby Embrace - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpjYkmesi7V_qbc Omni Breeze VS Ergobaby Aerloom - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZLCZ3aJiJeBjc0 Omni Breeze VS LILLEbaby Complete - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIm8c39pj7OZr6s ALSO this video I talk about why the Ergobaby Omni Breeze is my favourite carrier for forward facing specifically - kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIPRnqFqa6-qfac I hope that helps at all! And I haven't made it more confusing! Please do let me know if you have any other questions. Warm Regards - Rachel

@@ParentingCentral Tula Explore Coast is also one of my consideration, since it has a mesh front and I've heard it's easy to use. Found a rental of it and decided to do that first to try. These carriers can be quite expensive. 😅 Thank you so much for your reply! 😊

Oh interesting! I actually was recently sent a Tula Explore Coast to review - I do actually need to get on to making that video! I have previously reviewed the regular cotton Tula Explore here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2mmqHSNnd2BZs0 But great idea to rent a carrier before making a decision so you even know what features you want and need.

@@ParentingCentral Will definitely wait for that Tula Coast review. There are very few I've seen, if any. And you make the best vids. ❤️

Hey. I hope you're well! I put together a quick comparison - trying a new format because they're such similar carriers it really comes down to the little details. So hopefully this makes sense. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKrWgql3mtifiNk Of course in the video I forgot to talk about breathability and airflow for you. I don't feel like there is a dramatic difference between them, except the Omni Breeze might feel a bit *drier* because of all the mesh, particularly on the shoulder and waistband to wick sweat away faster. But I don't know if it would be the one deciding factor between them.
