This is not a criminal investigation therefore, it’s not taped off. They don’t really know the exact area that he was missing in or if he 100% went into the river. It’s all speculation. The public is making a lot of assumptions, but the police do not work based on assumptions. The police have to have evidence that a crime was committed. They currently do not have that. Finding a bank card on the side of a river is not evidence that any crime was committed.

@dextermoore278 While I do think they should thoroughly investigate all possibilities, I also agree that most likely, he accidentally fell into the river in his drunken state. There is nothing to indicate he was attacked. No one is seen following him in the surveillance footage, he walks right past an officer and doesn’t ask for help of any kind & his bank card is even found near the river (you would think a robber would steal a persons bank card.) So I don’t blame them for thinking no foul play as there’s no physical evidence to suggest that as far as we know. They should interview the lady who claims to have seen someone wearing his shirt but even that witness testimony doesn’t seem too concrete. If the public wants more answers the best bet is to hire a private investigator and/ or those special dive teams (such as Equusearch.)

​@@staysea71He was probably going to tell them to check the homeless shelter etc. I work for crime stoppers and although I am not a detective I only handle the financial stuff about it I hear many calls from literary 4 ft away of people telling us things we already know. If we get for example 1,000 calls in one day and 900 of those calls are repeated stuff we already covered that's why I believe they have to deny any kind of knowing of said person to not flood the system with useless calls. Of course every tip helps but in our office we only have like 13 people working on it so it makes sense.

Exactly. These KZbinrs have a lot less funding and resources than the cops do but can solve cold cases from over 5+ years ago. Eyewitness accounts are not very accurate in most cases. She "might" have seen the shirt on a homeless person. Might isn't definitive. What the media fails to mention is the fact that whatever happens with this case, the police will have to take responsibility for what they get wrong, but the media, well, they're never culpable for the incorrect statements they put out. If you have issues with how the very short staffed police are doing their jobs, might I suggest you sign up to be an officer since you seem to know how their job should be done.

In that video, it appears Riley was jogging or walking faster then slowed his pace when approaching that officer. He could've been trying to maintain his composure for fear of being ticketed or arrested for public intoxication. But I wish he had asked for directions!

As soon as Riley is out of ear shot the officer immediately goes from searching the clearly empty ground to radioing in saying “It’s over here on gay St.” I felt like he was talking in code to signal to another LEO that he had eyes on the suspect.. whether that’s with ill intent or an actual call is the question. This could be one of those higher up human trafficking cases especially when you factor in the high volume of drunk visitors and missing people. That’d explain why bits of information are scarce in this investigation..

@@staysea71 The officer was there for 45 minutes and in the video it’s clear he’s looked at all the vehicles in that section on the side of the road before he even sees Riley. If he was reporting on the broken car window then why would he wait so long to call in the information on it ? Also, now this is important.. WHY WOULD HE NOT PROBE RILEY WITH QUESTIONS ABOUT ANYTHING AT ALL when he was the only person in sight while the officer is supposedly investigating a car being broken into….. 🤔🤦🏼‍♀️. It actually could have been Riley who smashed the window in a panic just to try and find somewhere safe to lay down until he sobered up.. any way you look at it that officer was useless🤷🏼‍♀️.

Yes and honestly something that occurred to me is someone could have had his bank card and then disposed of it or dropped it later. It may not have been there when everyone was searching for 8 days. From what I could see, the card looked in pristine condition and wasn't even dirty.

The family or investigators need to assume he got a concussion after he went barreling head first into that cement block, he obviously sat motionless for about 4 seconds on the video. That cement block needs to be checked for his blood from head injury , there is NO way he didn't spit skin

While I agree that all angles need to be looked at in order to have a thorough investigation, the fact that no one seems to be following him on the surveillance footage, he walks right past a police officer & doesn’t ask for help & his bank card is found on the ground just leads me to believe he accidentally fell into the river. Who would rob a person & not take their bank cards?! Riley wasn’t in the best state & maybe he has his card outside of his wallet? I see a lot of conspiracy theories on here & it’s not sounding logical.

I am outraged! What in the actual hell is going on with the police department? Isn’t it funny how so many police department’s put down social media for doing their own research yet they do NOTHING…not even the bare minimal? And this is coming from someone that works in the legal field, my dad is retired officer, my brother is an officer and my uncle is with the FBI. Thankfully they are with good departments but this…right here…is unacceptable on every level. I am a woman and we never let our friends go home alone in this type of situation… I’ve asked a couple guys and one said he would have stayed to party too, but the other said he would always see his friends home if they were hammered. riley seemed to have crossed the street after the talk with the cop, because when the cop turned the flash light back riley could not be seen but on the other side of the street, so riley was never on the side of the river where the credit card was found...

I did not hear every little detail about this case, but from what I heard, the river and riverbank should have been searched and also the homeless questioned and searched in those camps. Very simple and logical. Why the police has not done this, is very strange.
