We Filipinos used to eating with our hands as well, especially with fingerfood like Seafoods, and Chicken, but normally we eat using Spoon and Fork we don't use steaknife because we usually eat with soup and casserole as viands and we cooked our meats tender grilled or fried, so no need for a knife. Tikoy is a desert, brought by the Chinese since the 1800 of Spanish occupation. The tikoy you ate is with a Filipino twist so that makes it a Filipino dish or desert.🤓

We do grow potatoes in the Philippines and a lot of Philippine dishes have potatoes in it. It only depends on every household or family maybe or even provinces if they cook with it a lot. In my family we would buy 5 to 8 kg of potatoes every week. We would make omelette with potatoes, menudo, mechado, afritada, mashed potatoes, boiled potatoes, potato salad, fried potato chips, the dishes are endless. It just depends on every family cooking tradition. So yes, we do have a lot of dishes with potatoes included.

Sergie, most of the herbal plants in the Philippines can be transforned into tea depending on how it is used for. For cough, you can use Lagundi leaves. For anti cancer, you use the guyabano leaves for controlling diabetes, you ampalaya leaves (bitter melon). All you have to do is to pour hot boiling water in it in a cup and let it cool.😊
