Sarah sounds just as controlling and toxic as his mother and father. I feel that after the wedding, she would get only worse. OP is not week exactly, he is reacting in line with the environment he was raised in. The separation from his family was not definite enough for him to start establishing himself as himself, not a reflection of someone else's idea of him.
