This translator does such a great job!! The emotions in her voice seem to match the couple perfectly, even with the little giggles

Incredible! I think it's great, he will be able to communicate in ASL, English, Spanish, and when he goes to school can take a foreign language elective and be able to communicate in 4 languages!!!😍

I think that deaf people are smarter because they have to function in a hearing world they have to develop so many ways to get through abs learn a language that uses their hands I think they are profoundly amazing

Yes they are very intelligent.
@sj4iy3 жыл бұрын
They aren't smarter, they're simply people who have learned to adapt to a hearing world very well. Individuals may be smarter or average or whatever, just like everyone else, but I don't think it's fair to categorize any group of people as above or below others. They're just people with a different language.

@@sj4iyI believe coda children are indeed smarter they learn sign language plus their hearing language add onto that a bilingual family .
@sj4iy Жыл бұрын
@@Kreeplifeinc That's stupid. What makes them smarter than any other bilingual person on earth? Also, do you have any hard evidence that they are somehow more intelligent?

Hi, your son is so cutie! I'm wondering about his speech therapy. Can he watch tv so he can hear their voices like seasme street, blue clue something like that. What your family are hearing or deaf? If hearing and try on FaceTime solute can learn to communicate hearing family? I thought to help you. Let me know what do you think? You both did great job. Congratulations your baby is on the way! 😊 yes most important to teach him ASL first then start learning to talk. Bless you all family 😊🤟🏻💜

My biggest fear would be not hearing my baby in the middle of the night. Or not hearing him once hes walking. Other then that I would be OK.

Because hearing babies can develop native ability in sign language, these deaf parents think that provides a solid foundation for their son to “pick up” and perfect oral language in kindergarten. But that is incorrect. For the same reasons that cochlear implants are most effective only when implanted in very young deaf children, preferably 1 year of age, CODAs’ oral language development suffers if they are not exposed to daily interactive experiences with oral language from birth. The human brain evolved to process oral language-although fully capable of learning language in other ways, those ways affect the brain differently. Exposure to oral language literally changes the brain. By the first year, the parts of the brain that differentiate sound are becoming specialized to the language the baby has been exposed to and is already starting to lose the ability to recognize different sounds found in other languages. In other words, brain plasticity is already declining. Although the “window” for language learning remains open, these brain circuits become increasingly difficult to alter over time. Early plasticity means it’s easier and more effective to influence a baby’s developing brain architecture than to rewire parts of its circuitry in the adult years. Deaf people are usually adamant that deaf babies with CIs must learn sign language from the start, not later, at age 5. Yet in this case, the deaf parents ignore the need to develop oral language from birth. The Deaf community needs to be consistent and fair.

You are in some massive denial.I have two deaf parents and had major issues in kindergarten with my speech it was deaf speech which usually id not full sentences.It sounds like he is already behind in his speech which already is an issue.Yes you live in deaf culture but your hearing son doesn't part of him does but you are ignoring the part that doesnt.He needs to be around more hearing children and adults.

Every child /family is different . I have Deaf parents also and I didn't start school with "deaf speech". My husband and I can hear and speak fine but my oldest son didn't speak more than a couple things until age four. He is smart and now as an adult is a quiet type person. Communication is the important part. It doesn't matter if it's signed or spoken. If some kids need extra speech support then so be it but it is up to the parents when it becomes priority
