We share a love for old books. For me it is poetry, but the smell, the appearance, the touch of old books is just so satisfying. So love Pachelbel's Canon.
@Merveillesenpapier2 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is something so special and so magical with old books,not everybody understand it. But for us who feel and experience this magic, it's just preciousand joyful to hold them in our hands and smell them of course :) We can't have an 18th century video without a slice of Pachelbel:)

Wow!!! Thank you for sharing an 18th century 'tea time' and museum. Every bit of everything is so lovely! And love that you sat on the floor too. The table with table cloth, the tray, tea pot and cup/saucer, beautiful tin, pink Fossier biscuits, old books, all of it... so lovely. Loved that wood carved piece in museum too with the word Boucher.

Bonjour Laetitia! This is such a wonderful video. I really like that you are giving us a tour of your beautiful French world,through your eyes,as a native of France. It’s so enchanting and so welcome to see as an American who only had ever seen different tourist videos of Paris and France in general. You are a gem that I hope you know how much we treasure you and your efforts to show us your beautiful culture. Also, what an outrage that they would not give your beautiful heroine a proper burial in Paris. I will have to research that. Very sad indeed.

Bonjour Madame Shelley! Very happy to share it with you who can appreciate it :)) and maybe to show things and places you wouldn't see otherwise. Yes it's sad, the political regim was not the same anymore in1838 when she died and monarchists hated everything which was linked to the empire and Napoléon, and as she had been the wife of one of his closest general and friend . So they didn't want to show any interest or care for her, and she died totally ruined and very poor...

Those ornate frames in museum are so desirable! Yes the 18th century and its erotica...ha ha...love the curtains over the naughty boxes. I will definitely be going there and to that divine coffee shop next time in Paris! Poor Laure has a very flat head given her by d'Angers and that nose...its like he deliberately wanted to made her quite ugly! Very political of course that she wasn't acknowledged by the City of Paris as worthy of being buried in the cemetery for the great and famous...too feisty a woman! (And that she was the lover of Balzac...who is in the great cemetery). I am very envious of the magnificent books you found, especially those fairy tales! I love the illustrations. All so inspiring, thank you for sharing your lovely tea with us 🍪🌹🌸 PS. Have you read Nancy Mitford's book on Madame de Pompadour? It is a delight!
@Merveillesenpapier2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Amanda!! oh yes you will have to go, you won't be disappointed I can promise you that !!:)) yes I think this sculptor made her super ugly on purpose. yes th'ats so ironical that Blazac is peacefully sleeping at le Père Lachaise, him who pressed her like a lemon to share all he rmemories so that he could turn them into novels, and who had said terrible things when he was told of her death, he didn't even go to her funerals.... You can't read him the same way when you see how he behaved.... Thank you for joining me for my tea time. No I didn't read her, I need to read more about the Louis XV characters that's for sure, but my pile of "to read books" is very high and scary these days so I need to finish some readings before buying new ones.....;)
