Leggings are not pants! I live in America and too many women wear leggings as pants. Is this also a problem in France? I think of all of the beautiful clothes to be worn and leggings have taken over!
@Merveillesenpapier4 күн бұрын
Ive not been to America so it's hard to compare , but generally in France people and women in cities and big towns dress pretty well, and the more you go to very small towns , suburbs, or the countryside, the more "basic" and minimalist people dress.

I love the idea of making the clafoutis with almond milk and corn flour, I'm going to give it a try! In Canada we make desserts with pumpkin so today I'm going to celebrate 'October in July' (my daughter and I love the Fall) and make a pumpkin crumble, it's a family favourite <3. I absolutely love when you share your old book finds!! This summer I traveled 3.5hrs east by plane from Ontario to Newfoundland Canada and discovered a used bookstore - I found a real treasure!!!!
@Merveillesenpapier4 күн бұрын
Yes let me know if you have tried, I'm doing some versions of this clafoutis twice a week these days , I just love it! "October in July" I never heard of that , I wonder why people in north America don't like summer and always wait for Autumn and Christmas. For us Europeans and French even more it's very strange, as here people live and crave for their long summer vacations and for summer activities, long summer evenings all year long. It's the opposite. I would have to try a sweet pumpkin crumble, I have done some salty pumpkin ones, but not sweet ones. Thank you! I found a lot of fun things in the old book shop and in brocante these past weeks will share more later , that's wonderful !! I'm glad for you, you found such a wonderful shop they are so rare! Thank you Lisa !

@@Merveillesenpapier I think I love autumn more than summer because autumn is spectacular in southern Ontario. Day time temperatures are still warm with the evenings a bit cooler for being cozy (outdoor bonfires are so fun). The trees turn stunning red, burgundy and yellow and the sun is lower on the horizon so the shadows are longer and the light is golden!<3

Did you put liquid wax on all of the books? If not, why not? I have antique books I need to repair. Thank you for this.
@Merveillesenpapier4 күн бұрын
No as I explained in the video only on the leather boundbooks of course, because the cover is made in real leather and I didn't use it not on the fabric/canvas ones, why ? for the same reason you wouldn't put wax on your clothes, would you ? it would only stain the covers as it would stain your clothes.

Helllo Laetitia. I take a few minutes to tell you I've been to the exhibition "La traversée des jardins" au château de Bouges . And I just LOVED IT! It is full of beauty, dream, and very inspiring.The history of the gardens is related with so much poetry. The Château de Bouges is a lovely box for it. It has magnificent intériors, and a large english garden with old trees (Particularly two very old linden trees in full bloom spreading incredible perfume!. I already been there twice and think I will go a third time to enjoy it again. Your piece (the manuscript) is one of my favorite between all the marvels you have created.

Dearest Laetitia...years ago, I enrolled in a mulberry paper making workshop offered through the paper technology department of Georgia Tech. One of the ladies taking the course was a professional conservatrix in the library archive. She was most familiar with using mulberry paper to mend paper pages, but the archival form of the mulberry paper was so expensive, she was hoping to find a way to produce it herself. What she learned was the reason the product was so expensive! You have such a good eye for color and texture, and your approach to mending is perfectly appropriate to use for books in your own private collection. John and I look forward to news of the next workshop! Fond regards from both of us.

Thank you Jane! That must have been a very interesting workshop ! I used to work with another paper when I started which was another Japanese paper much thinner than this one which was sold and used to repair pages , it was extremely fragile and delicate maybe it was close to the one you have mentioned. Yes I think this approach work for me though I guess professionals in this field would cringe a bit .....but at least my books are stabilized now . Thank you both of you and send my good wishes to John : :)
