Wow - the locals really do come out and cheer you on! How lovely to bring out water and snacks. I doubt that'd happen in the UK 😕 Really loving this journey - followed you on Insta as it happened but love the commentary and seeing the views, the checkpoints etc. What a buzz - and with so many people getting more and more tired you get a sense of the camaraderie. Brilliant!! Well done you two - what a team!

@@amy.cycling.adventures As a matter of fact, we all should thank you both!! Btw, I wondered how you managed to capture the footage, maybe by some sort of handle bar mount or something, but then I realised that you were holding it with one hand and holding the bike with the other hand. I think that's incredibly challenging unless one has the ambition to encapsulate the whole ride in the best possible manner!

3:43 Safa Brian? Did you forget the sunscreen? You're tomato red hahaha. 600km in a day is SICK. That's amazing. Furthest I rode solo is 100km and that took me 7 hours cuz I bonked at around 80km in the 108F heat and had to stop to de-cramp and find ice/beach showers to cool down. 27C ain't bad at all! edit: Shoulda kept watching the video! That's so cute that people give out stuff. So nice. What a trip.

PBP about a month after a 24hr and having period pains. I'm not surprised you weren't at your best. But you were easily good enough and looked like you had a more comfortable ride than most. Well done to Kyle as well. Going from beginner to riding PBP in the time he did is very good and I doubt many could do that. Changing saddles close to PBP could have been very bad but might possibly have made things better. I agree about the cost of food at controls. But at least it helped me lose some fat, so I am not complaining that much...

Great video. I like your infectious enthusiasm! The yippees are superb and I admire your husband for being able to accept all the noise you make on a ride for at least 600km (I await part 2) - what an unsung hero. I dnf'd in 2007 and I completed PBP in 2011. Positive mental attitude is 99% of the deal in events like PBp All things being equal - fitness, bike fit, and weather, it all comes down to mental attitude. Weather one can never control but I see from other vids that you are ok with fitness and bike fit. Really nice to watch - for various reasons I had no plans to do PBP again but maybe I will have to look at this again. 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈

@@amy.cycling.adventures part 2 was good. Suffering can be part of it. On my 2011 PBP I went down with Shermers neck just after I left La Perche control in the last 160km. I was so pissed off riding with one hand holding my head up - but I made it. I will be 64 in 2027 - still doable.
