Paris in 1900: Amazing Moving Sidewalks of the Future

My second attempt at bringing this rather poorly preserved footage to life. Oscar Wilde frequently wandered around the Exposition in his signature white suit. It is been suggested that he may in fact have been captured on this very film. Look closely for a large man in a white suit amongst the throngs during the Eiffel tower sequence at the end.

What a strange feeling, looking at footage of people going about their day, that period of time so normal for them. Everything from buggy technology to modest fashion as modern and in vogue. Come less than a century and pop music, radically different fashion, music and video game technology, automobiles and other cultural explosions seem so hard to imagine happening so quickly. Oscar Wilde was a "wheres Waldo" for me when I read your description.

They have built these even with the risk of the train of the skirts getting stuck on the rail, and nowadays somehow everyone just decided to scrap this instead of improving the idea 🥲
