The Paris fire brigade responding to a fire. In this video you can see a combined pumper/ambulance truck and a (new) ladder truck preparing to leave for a fire call. The second pumper/ambulance of the station had left only 10min before to another call, just like the ambulances.

There is always one smart ass saying "too slow", ALWAYS. It feels slow because you're watching it in front of your computer. Moreover depending on the doctrine, it can be that these guys pack extra stuff or take time to do thing before leaving the station. You compare it to the US, but there are so many different FDs there, with so many different protocoles and techniques that I don't see how you can make a point. For all I know, I've seen loads of terrible shit done by american FDs, much more serious than appearing "too slow". I find it always amazing how people feel self-entitled to set the appropriate response time of FDs around the world. Jeez.

That's true, plus, French firefighters are also called for flood protection, cat stucks in trees, people who are sick, removing a fallen tree from a road, landslide etc... some calls are more urgent than others.

it's a mix between a pumper and an ambulance. It carries 1000L water, can respond to both fire and medical emergencies and it only exists in Paris.

In Paris, the fire station are very close to each other. 3 min to hit the streets + 5 min to get there = 8 min. I wouldn't call that a slow response.

dXb are the physics of fire different in Paris too? How about the amount of time it takes a hypoxic brain to die? Because that was pathetically slow.
